showmebob
My son has a Walther P99 that just quit releasing the sear one day at the range. The trigger has a slight click to it but travels all the way rearward without releasing the sear. Does anyone have any idea of what might be the problem? Thanks much! BritinUSA
My P99 only fires when the trigger is all the way back against the frame. Did you check the rear of the trigger to make sure that there is not a build up of dirt there that could prevent it moving far enough back? It might be a good idea to get some compressed air and give the inside of the frame/trigger mechanism, again to make sure that there is nothing restricting the movement in there as well. showmebob
The gun appears clean. Also, it doesn't work either single or double action.
BritinUSA
You don't mention how long you have had the gun, is it new or old ? If it's older then there is a chance that something has worn to the point where it no longer functions. It could be something as simple as a replacement spring. Smith & Wesson can repair P99, so perhaps you could contact them and perhaps they know a fix or can provide you with the necessary parts, or you may have to send it in for repairs.
