  1. Barry Ellis is the most awesome CRO ever, even if his shot timer holds eight-track cassette tapes.
  2. "Devious" Lee "Rat Bastard 2.5" Leonard does the stage layout. The stuff that looks like theater stage props actually are recycled theater stage props. Lee, Ed Basham, Dan Schwegman, Charlie, Carl (only 78 yrs old), Ed (the ATA guy), J. Haas and many others that I regret omitting have literally worked *seven days a week for months* building those stages and improving the grounds and berms. I hope that they all take a much deserved rest. These folks have put an incredible amount of time and energy into improving our club, which we are so fortunate to have. We're all glad that you had a good time. I hope that we can do it again next year, even bigger and even better.
  3. You were in Southern Indiana, alright. Those weren't halloween masks! We've posted the final results here: http://www.silvercreekcc.org/PlasticFantas...7PF_Results.htm
  4. Thank all of you for the props. We enjoyed having you and are looking forward to hosting tomorrow's competitors. We've posted today's preliminary results here (and on the bulletin board at the clubhouse): http://www.silvercreekcc.org/PlasticFantas...2007Prelims.htm
  5. Thanks RB-2.5 New Plastic Fantastic Registration form attached, improved with new line to indicate which day (pick one) that you want to shoot the match! Plastic_Fantastic_Registration.pdf
  6. Thank you Chris. New Plastic Fantastic Registration form attached, improved with new line to indicate which day (pick one) that you want to shoot the match! Plastic_Fantastic_Registration.pdf
  7. You can pre-register using the attached form or you can show up and pays your money. We encourage you to preregister because we're afraid that it may fill up. See the thread that I posted at: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53582 There will be no pre-match date squadding available. Squadding will be done on a first come, first serve basis. AFAIK, Para doesn't make a gun with a plastic frame. SigSauer makes the SP2022, which has a polymer frame CZ makes the CZ100, which has a polymer frame Beretta makes the 90-Two, the PX4 and the 9000 with polymer frames. Kimber, BUL and Wilson Combat make 1911s with polymer frames Update: STI frames (lowers) are steel, their grip housing is plastic. STIs will not be allowed in this competition. 9. I hear ya. I raised that concern but I've been told that the last time we held a plastic fantastic (which was, apparently, a success) no body had problems with scoring minor. Bring your softball loads and have at it with your .40 or .45.
  10. Don't shoot the messenger. A KY state sectional match has to be sanctioned by USPSA and a "Plastic Fantastic" match doesn't. This is not a USPSA event. Basically this is a way to still have a match of some kind and salvage the work that was done for the canceled sectional. From what I've gleaned from searching online and talking with other people this isn't entirely without precedent. Making the match a "Plastic Fantastic" with plastic lowers only is an obvious way to differentiate it from a USPSA event. I believe that USPSA would be unhappy if its clubs held "USPSA-like" events that were not sanctioned by them and I wouldn't blame them if they were. Your suggestion about "steel challenge" scoring with Limited and Open divisions echoes my own. We'll have to wait a day or two to see what the management comes up with. Did I mention that we're awarding guns?
  11. We're definitely on for a Plastic Fantastic match on Sunday October 14th. No sense in wasting all that work that was done prepping for the canceled KY Sectional. All I can tell you right now is that the reg fee will be $25, there will be 9 to 10 stages + a chronograph and that we'll be giving away three guns. Plastic lowers only, everything scored minor. 250-300 rds required. More to be announced later.
  12. Lee Leonard's announcement: C, I share your frustration and disappointment. A lot of people have worked hard in preparation for this match. The committed staff was more than adequate to cover ten stages. I chose to not comment on the reasons for the cancellation. However, I will say that it has been great working with Lee Leonard and Christa Toby and the other core workers at Silver Creek and Hidden Hills and look forward to helping them organize events in the future. I'm very new to USPSA and have never participated in a level two match. My role in organizing this even has been strictly to help out with the "internet" side of it and run stats. Some of you have asked me about refunds. If anyone has questions about refunds of registration fees paid they can contact me and I will gladly do what I can to expedite your refund. However, I fully expect that you will receive your refunds quickly and that no checks received have even been cashed. Thanks, Dominic Bosco
  13. Dcarter - pls pm me your name and zipcode and I'll look up your reg info and let you know. Thanks for signing up! Dom
  14. Per Event Coordinator Lee Leonard, this match will NOT be revolver neutral, contrary to what is advertised above. Thanks, Dom
  15. All RO slots are now filled. Thanks! Pierce195 - you should have an email confirming receipt of your registration and funds. Match Director Harry Sublett has promised to send an email confirming receipt of registrations this weekend. Steel1212 - I am hoping to have the match booklet online by Sept 14th. I haven't seen it yet, but I know that it's in the final stages of production. I'll do everything I can to get it online asap. And regarding squading: we have no means of providing "online" squading on a website at this time. However, you may pm me a list of names and USPSA nums and I personally make sure that the squad lists are given directly to the Match Director. Thanks, Dom
  16. I think KKM is still making a Hybrid glock barrel but I dunno about anyone else
  17. Wow, those are some sweet looking blasters - perfectly suited for my taste! Have you had any problem with the major PF and your JPoints? Anything special done to the Jpoints to help them hold up to the recoil? The High-Gear Race Gun site that I found is http://highgearraceguns.com I've googled, but I can't find anything on the Caspian/Schuemann hybrid barrels. And man, the Caspian Arms website truly sucks.
  18. Options you may consider: 1. Install a 8.5lb connector, or 2. Leave the stock 5.5lb connector and install a NY1 trigger spring I've fooled around with combinations of different connector weights and the NY1 trigger spring. I got the best results from the 5.5lb connector and the NY1 trigger spring with the coil spring removed from the plastic leaf spring. However, I've reverted all of my Glocks (competition and carry) to stock trigger configs with only very light polishing and no significant modification. There are several things holding me back from moving up a class in USPSA production division. My glock trigger's pre-travel and breaking weight are least of my concerns.
  19. Pierce195. please pm me your complete name, zip code and email addy and I'll get a confirmation of receipt of your registration and email you. I am going to send a note to Lee tonight to volunteer to email out confirmations to folks who have already registered. Steel - There will be no online squadding (next year there will, I promise) this year. I will find out for certain if the match diagrams/booklet will be available online before the match.
  20. Confirmed with Lee Leonard 9/3: The match will be held as scheduled on October 12-14th. There will be 10 stages and the match will require 250-300 rounds to complete. Everyone, I do apologize for the confusion that my earlier posts on this thread have caused. I greatly appreciate the input that I've received from members of this board regarded the posted the match information and the help they've given me in clarifying some of the information that I've muddled. So here's an update: (updated 9/3) Three things: 1. Match Information 2. Staff Information 3. Hotel Information 1. The staff shoot will be held on Friday afternoon. We ask all certified ROs, non-certified ROs and other match staff to shoot the match on the afternoon/evening of Friday the 12th if possible. Any staff member (non-certified RO or cook, target paster, steel setter, etc.) who commits to working all three days of the match can register for the Championship for $20.00; i.e if you’re a non-certified RO and you commit to work all three days, your registration fee for the Championship is only $20.00. 21. Thanks for the input guys. Keep it coming, yay or nay. I will pass these initial comments on to the Event Coordinator and Match Director today. We are all very confident that the ten stage match will be a success but we were concerned because we had promised 12 to 15.
  22. Royce, staff will shoot on the afternoon of Friday the 12th. Any staff that can't make the shoot on Friday afternoon/evening will shoot on Sat or Sun as time and work load allows. Regarding the rumor of cancellation: We don't have enough certified ROs to do the 12 to 15 stages that we originally planned. So we're going to do 10 instead and keep the round count at 250-300. Anyone who has paid and is disappointed by this change will receive a refund. See my post, #32 on this thread for the latest match information. It should clear up some of the confusion that I caused.
  23. Call for Volunteers! Please let us know if you can help out! October is almost here and we need USPSA certified ROs and CROs to help officiate the 2007 Kentucky Section Championship, which will be held at Silver Creek Conservation Club in Sellersburg Indiana. We have 18 range officer openings openings that we need to fill asap. CRO's shoot the match for free and RO's shoot for half price ($40). Certified CROs and ROs from out of town get a free hotel room (shared) on Saturday night. The "RO Match" will be held on Friday of the match weekend. Anyone working the match is welcome to shoot the RO Match for free. Certificates will be awarded for the winners of the RO match. There will be an RO prize table. All prizes donated by sponsors will be given away to match staff by blind raffle. All ROs will receive a raffle ticket for each match day they work, up to three. In addition to Range Officers, we need folks to help with setting up and tearing down stages, running stats, registering shooters, chronographing and preparing food. All volunteer staff eat for free. Any Match worker who works the entire three days of the match will be able to enter the actual Section Championship Match for prestige if they wish for only a $20.00 fee. This makes them eligible for trophies, plaques and Title. If you want to volunteer and help us make this the best match possible, please send email to: Lee Leonard, Event Coordinator at leedvc AT sbcglobal DOT net or Harry Sublet, Match Director at pvraone AT aol DOT com or PM me, Dominic Bosco
