  1. My only $.02 is that if you load multiple calibers, and can only afford one press, then the 550. If you load a lot of one caliber, then 650 at minimum but, a 1050 is really not that much more for what you get. Add a bullet feeder. I know it is somewhat expensive but, I think once you have one, you will ask yourself why you didn't in the past.

I started with a 550, and less than a year later went with the 1050 with bullet feeder. I now have a lot more time to shot versus making ammo.!

    Just my .02

  2. I use 38 super, Hornady 125 HAP JHP in my open gun. I use to use Zero but they made their problems, my problems. I think the quality really went down andthe tolerance was pretty bad. They are alittle more expensive but, I can always get them (powder valley) and they are the same bullet each and every time. Very reliable from the manufacturing aspect and the supply chain.

Sorry Zero, my 40,000 annual orders go to Hornady!

note: my open gun is a dawson mini. Dave use's the same bullet.

  3. I forgot to mention, if you want to even speed up even more, get the Dillion RF-100 Primer filler. By the time the tube fills with primers, you loaded 100 rounds. Dump and go! Not cheap but, further automates the process if you are trying to save time.

  4. I have a bullet feeder on my 1050 and man is that cool. I wonder why I stayed with my 550 for so long.

For a "special" price, call Roger directly http://www.bulletfeeder.com/ and tell him your story. If anybody can give you a discount, it is him. Super nice guy. I met him at his place and showed me all the details of the machine. Pretty much bought one on the spot. No regrets

  5. I use the KISS on my Super 1050 and love it. very reliable and easy to setup and use. I have seen several different ways to mount it. I think it was Saul K. who had a video with a white bracket mounted to the case feed support pole on a 1050. For me, I kept the original PVC piping but did not mount it to my bench. Instead when I need to add bullets, i seing it forward to make it easy, then when loaded, i push it in back of my 1050 and it is out of the way.

  6. I used a STI Grnadmaster (Dawson Tuned) for my first year of Open. I had about 35,000 rounds through it and not once did it fail. It's a good gun that works and I get to spend more time on shooting versus surfing the web for "how to" fixes to keep it going!

  7. I have only been shooting for less than a year and this was my first Major match. All I can say is that it was the most well oiled match I have shot and I had too much fun. I thought everything was great (except the weather and I am from Minnesota  ). Finished 68th in Open which I was really pleased with. Can't wait until next year.

Thanks to everyone who helped put on this match. It truley was a great time.
