Hello, fellow NY'er !

Thanks ! I have watched some...including Nationals in Talladega in October. I have competed in 6 or 7 matches now and 1 steel match. I am having a great time and I am consistently improving. I even shot better than my mentor at the last match. I had almost all alphas. He however hit a couple no shoots, just an off day for him. This is a great sport !

I got to shoot my son's Atlas at a steel match. Wow !! Very nice pistol !! I loved the way it felt in my hands. I am looking to get one....eventually. Until then the custom STI he made for me is working damn fine !!

Ok, I have gotten a few matches under my belt ! While I didn't do the best, I learned a lot and had fun doing so. I was safe, and slow....lol

Lots of good tips. I have shot a couple of matches now and feel pretty confident. You just gotta read, practice, practice, practice, and find a local match. All the aforementioned stuff will get you prepared, so do get nervous...just go and shoot. Be safe and have fun ! The folks at the match will help you. Let the RO know that it is your first match too, they will be glad to give advice.

I have been using corn cob and a slash of Nu Finish. Works very nicely

Ha !! Yup, chronograph !!

I just got a couple thousand with the reloader I bought. The guy gave me everything he had for reloading, plus 3000 already made rounds, a couple thousand empty cases. I made out like a bandit $600 ! P.S. that also included a chronometer.

I ordered a batch 1.5 weeks ago. It was the holiday weekend so it took a little longer , but I am very happy with them !
