  1. I get 2.15 and 2.16.

I do not know what the problem is. There is more than unusual take up I tried to take it out and could not get the sear to release. My other problem is I do not know what I am doing. But I will figure it out. Right know I have 6 tuned SV mags and only one will work. Kinda sucks.

  2. I have a new trigger from a 9mm edge and I have a trigger that I removed from a Fred Craig custom STI made in about 1997.

    New

    1.017 wide

1.7 long (front to the longest edge)

    Old

    1.021 wide

1.743 long(front to the longest edge)

The problem I am having is the new trigger bow is so short that on most of my mags the trigger hits the front of the magazine before the sear

is released. I am in the process of changing it out to see if my theory is right.

These pictures were posted by Jesse Tischauser. The pictures depict my shotgun except for the stippling. The stippling on the last pic looks like the stippling that I have but it is hard to tell I really like it it is very aggressive. ( I do not know how to post pic so this is the best that I can do)

  4. Shooting last week at the Montana Multigun my handguard got too hot to touch during sustained fire, I actually burned my palm. A glove on the weak hand helped but screwed up my shotgun reloads. I have one of those solid aluminum (I think) free float tubes on the rifle now. What should I do to keep the tube cool enough to hang on to? Drill holes in it? Replace it? With what?

If it were me I would replace it. I like the JP hand guard personally but the carbon fiber stay cool and are lighter.

  5. Just received my shotgun back from Mike @ Accurate Iron. The gun is beautiful, The work is awesome and the attention to detail is spot on. And it loads so easy. Shoots too!!

    Thanks Mike

  6. This is my new gun also from the same gunsmith as the picturs is the previus post.

I did not see the gun! :roflol: Nice avatar by the way!

  7. I have been out of the custom gun market for some time but the one of the last ones I had dome was by Novak. I sent him a slide and frame and he supplied everything else and it was around $1700. (full custom) In to days $$ it would be in the 3,000 range. So I think that is a fair price for a true custom 1911.

  8. I know ONE thing for sure about vanity plates--they've become almost prohibitively expensive in some states! <_<

I agreee its getting prety pricey in Ca. but I have to keep mine or change my forum name.

  9. In 2003 the local club was talking about including MOR in our 3-gun events. So I went out and purchased a custom bolt action 308 and MILDOT scope and It never materialized. I still have the gun so I would be in. The problem is I have only shot 1 3-gun match in the last 4 years so MOR would only ad one more gun that I would have to master and I have to practice a lot just to be mediocre. But then that's never stopped me before.

  10. I purchased a jp/ nordic 22 upper and it works all the time. I have never owned a tac-sol but I have had 2 different dedicated 22 uppers(a victor arms and dpms) and this is first one that has been reliable. It is a mirror image of my ctr-o2 and weighs the same.

  11. Hi can anybody tell me what handguard this is? It looks like a JP but as you can see the tube screws on the barrelnut just like a DPMS freefloating tube and the nut is one piece unlike my other JP handguards which are 2 piece.

That is an older jp handguard in my opinion.

  12. Chris: The Bolens I have need an Allen wrench to disassemble. Am I missing a secret?

You would only use an Allen wrench to adjust the pin to make it easier or harder to push the pin in or out. I have never done that. I use my finger nail to push the pin out for removal. Then after I clean your mag I use my finger nail again to push the pin back in place. That's the easiest part of the stage. Lately its the shooting that's kicking my butt. His first pads were a bitch to get off and on but that's why he changed the design.

  13. I was talking to a 3-gun shooter a few years back and he told me that he shot way better with his SV over his Glock and when he switched to his sight tracker his performance went up the same amount(up 20% then up 20%) That was good enough for me . I am always looking for a hardware solution (guns) for a software problem (ammo and practice).

I did not see any real difference with the sightracker except the recoil impulse was less (slightly). I think that can be attribute to the slide lightening effects of the slide cut. I like my Sightracker its a great gun,but the secret to getting better is ammo and practice. Of Course I am in the process of buying two guns and I am thinking about buying a new shot gun. But then I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. :roflol:
