  1. Double action trigger pull of 5-5.5# is easy to get, not a problem. My issue was too light of a single action trigger pull at 1.5#. The sear spring increased the single action trigger pull from 1.5# to 2# which is what i was trying to achieve.

  2. Was not satisfied with my S2 trigger pull. I use a 14# hammer spring minus 4 coils and had a 5# da and 1.5# sa pull. Sa pull was too light for my liking. Found some increased power sear springs online at https://www.cz-parts.com/search?query=Sear+spring and purchased a .07,  .075 , and .08 wire diameter sear springs. Factory wire diameter was.062. I first tried the.075 sear spring and the sa pull went up to 2# and the da went up to 5.5#. Reset in nice and firm and the wall on the trigger prep is nice and firm. Got it right the first time and I like it a lot. Cost was $10 per spring and $25 UPS and arrived from Czech Rep in 5 days. Painless.

  3. Shadow 2 CO here. Been using 147gr Campro flat point @ 1.09”with zero issues and great accuracy. Recently switched to 3.2 titegroup since I can’t get VV320 at this time. Three inch three shot group @ 45 yds supported the other day. I like the recoil impulse as well.

  4. I have the S1 and the S2, both with optic. For me, there is no real time difference in the splits. The S1 points better for me cuz of the better balance. Therefore I get better overall scores with the S1. Your mileage may vary.

  5. Cut four coils off the factory hammer spring and you will have about 5.5# double action and about 2# single action. Swap out the firing pin return spring with a reduced power one and you will ignite all primers.

  6. I shoot a Shadow2 OR with a Vortex  Venom. My second gun is a Ruger MK2 with a bull barrel, fat grips and a Vortex Venom. It weighs about the same as the S2 and flips about the same. Gripping, finding the dot, and pulling the trigger is not a problem after a few thousand rounds. Your mileage may vary.

hahaha, i guess i meant more if I take the irons off and on, do the irons stay reasonably zeroed?

secondly, in the past i just removed the fiber from the front sight when running an optic on a sp01 or a shadow 2. is that still the easiest thing to keep the optic window un cluttered?

My OR is sitting on the bench detail stripped, having received all the polish and other attention but waiting on Grauffel springs.

Yes, the irons do stay zeroed for me. So does the Venom. The points of impact do not change.

I use black nail polish on the front of the front sight to black it out.

  8. I have an S2 OR with a Vortex Venom . I have switched back and forth from optic/irons a few times and have removed the plate to clean the extractor channel and finally to install a +p extractor spring. The points of impact barely changed at 25m if at all. I often use the Venom to rack the slide 😳.

Thanks but I'm afraid that will bring the issue back.  I have various iteration and figure out it's the trade-off between the pull weight and this problem.  It's quite obvious the issue is essentially a hammer and sear fitting/alignment issue, an out of box luck.  I tried searching in this forum on hammer/sear adjustment but couldn't find much about it.

I have done that trick to half a dozen Shadows and Shadow2 over the years. Worked every time. 5.5# da/ 2.25# sa. Clip 3 or 4 coils and see what happens. You are probably not using the factory spring anyways😀

Update:  I swapped back to stock sear spring and the issue is improved by ~80%, with both DA/SA pull both increased by half pound that I can live with (6lb/2lb).  I switched to 13lb hammer spring and the problem is completely gone.  Unfortunately the DA pull becomes 7.5lb and it’s too heavy for me.

I guess this shadow 2 sear assembly just happens to have low tolerance of reduced power hammer spring compared to my other one which handles the reduced sear spring and 11lb hammer spring.

Try clipping the factory 14# hammer spring until you get 5.5# d/a.

  11. My S2 optic ready is bone stock except for a spring change. i am using a Vortex Venom. Dialed in a 147 grain load today on the chrony. Decided to do a 50 yard group to see what it would do at that distance. I squatted down and supprted on a post and it gave me a 3 shot 1 1/2 inch  group. One and a half inches. At 50 yards. Stock gun. No tricky parts. Not an Orange, not an AccuShadow. Just an off the shelf S2 optic ready.

  12. Been shooting production optic with  a Vortex Venom 6 moa. No problems. I bought it cuz of the lifetime warranty. I like the sight but I wish the window was bigger. I like the C-more STS2  and the Max3 and the Trijicon cuz of the large windows. But the warranties are not as good as the Vortex. Anyone know of a sight with a warranty comparable to Vortex?

  13. My S2 took a dump on me at the range today. Single action ok, double action no go. Everything looked ok, trigger screw, trigger bar spring, trigger return spring etc. Finally went home and took it apart, there was a tiny pebble about the size of a pin head between the trigger bar at the front and the frame. Trigger could not move far enough ahead to reset. I figure the pebble hitchhiked in via a mag since I was practicing mag changes at the time. I did give the mags a shake and a wipe between changes but that one got by me.

Depends on the attachment system. I removed/reinstalled several different optics on different slides. Most went ok, the last one I had to send the slide back to CZC. I couldn't drive the pin through the slide and plate, which is what their design requires, without binding extractor into immobility.

Mine is the S2 with the factory optic plate. I took the plate off to get to the extractor. No problems.

About every 500-700. I am a little more careful with my CO Shadows than with my Production Shadows because properly cleaning under the extractor with a former is a pain in the ass. So I squirt some gunscrubber there, brush a little, blow with a compressed air hoping that it will prevent me being forced to remove the optic one day. Dunno if it is gonna make a difference though.

i have removed my optic a few times , once to clean behind the extractor, twice to shoot iron sights. The optic goes back on easily and went back to almost perfect zero at 25m.
