So if you guys don't mind expanding... I've got Montana Golds on the way (115 JHP's) and Vihtavuori N350. What are some loads you guys use with this combination (in Super not SC)? Give me some other loads with other bullet weights as well. I'll try them all!!!!

Thanks for the replies. Things seemed a lot easier in Limited with a .40, I just shot what worked and made Major pf. In Open, there's a lot to consider with the comps, the pressures, the recoil, etc.

Specifically, in .355 diameter, what bullet should I be loading with in .38 Super (Not SC). Should I use 9mm in 115 grains, 124 grains, 125 grains (is there that much difference in 124 to 125?)? I'm confused...

Trying to get a general concensus on where most people purchase their reloading supplies. Where is a good place to buy Powders and Montana Gold bullets.

As you've seen from my posts, I'm getting into shooting Open. Can anyone give me a general concensus on PMC brass? Also when shopping for Brass what is the general cost per 1000? I was quoted $80 for PMC. Is this good or are there other places I can go for better prices?

So do you need to adjust your extracter like you do to shoot Super Comp. Or since it's "Rimless" but not "Super Comp" you don't have to tune the extractor? What do most .38 super Open shooters uses (not counting super comp) rimless or just normal??

Today I picked up my Grandmaster...WOW! Aside from having to break it in, it's a sweet ride!!!! Today was the first time I ever shot an Open Gun as well. I know what you're thinking, why would anyone buy an Open gun without ever having shot one first? Funny I bought my STI Edge and all of my gear without having ever shot an IPSC Match too (I shot IDPA before). Luckily I liked it, and here I am now with my new Open gun and loving it. While I was waiting to get it, I read all 32 posts on the Open forum to find out everything I possible could about Open guns. I was so surprised that when I started shooting it today, it didn't seem to take very much for me to get used to it. I honestly figured that there'd be a big learning curve to Holding, Aiming, and Shooting it, but I picked up on it really quickly. I guess shooting Limited iron sighted guns really helped. I know that there's quite much I will need to learn in the transition, but todays session went really well. I really think I've found my new division.

I have read all 32 pages of the Open Gun Technical questions and haven't seen one topic on this covered so I'll ask... Shooting Limited with an eye dominance (I put a Magic Dot over my right eye lense), how do I approach shooting an Open gun? I've heard from two other Open shooters that when shooting Open I don't look at the gun, I look at the targets. If I'm supposed to be doing that, won't that keep me from seeing double like I do with an iron sighted gun, therefore eliminating the need to use the Magic Dot???

I spoke with Bevin Grams for about thirty minutes, what a nice guy, he gave me lots of great advice on transitioning to Open and a lot of funny stories of him getting used to shooting Open in the beginning. I ordered (5) mags from him, (2) 170's and (3) 140's. Man, I never thought I'd ever spend what I'm spending on magazines. I remember a few years ago I'd gripe about buying a Glock or Wilson mag, $30 is nothing anymore. lol Thanks again guys and get ready for a hailstorm full of Open questions.

I went out purchased a new Open gun the other day. I'm checking with Grams and going to look into getting him to tune my mags for me. I've been shooting Limited with a Paa for about a year now. I want to move up into Open class. When making the transition, what should I practice on to make things run smoothly. I know that I'm going to have to do tons of dryfire to get used to acquiring the dot, what else would be some good drills or practice to get acclamated to shooting Open??

I just bought a new Open gun. Question is, What do you guys recommend as good trouble free mag setups? My buddy has an STI Edge and uses the STI tubes with Dawson pads and grams springs and followers. He did have to do quite a bit of tweaking to get them to fall freely from the magwell, I don't want to have the same hassles with my gin that he's had with his STI Tubes. Should I look at SV Tubes over STI? Springs and followers, Arredondo setups? Dawson? STI? SVI? Grams? I want the best!

Why is that so hard to believe? All you're doing is pointing the gun downrange and firing at the sound of the buzzer. It's just practice to your reaction time. You're just waiting for the first note of the buzzer. What kind of times are you getting rimfire?

I'm going through the same dilema myself. I got off to a fast start and good success, but lately my shooting is going a little downhill. I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing or if I'm shooting a little too much or if it's lack of practice the past couple of weeks, or a combination of everything. What do some of you veteran shooters do when feel like this?

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm leaning towards an STI Edge 40. There's enough around and people really seem to enjoy them. I've shot my brothers, I'd just like to know which brands people really prefer. The information on the Para was something I haven't heard before. Now if I wanted to shoot IPSC (World Shoot, Panama, etc.) is this pistol legal or is there something else I should consider?

I was thinking of getting into USPSA. I shoot my 1911 in L10 but was thinking of something more along the lines of Limited. What would guys recommend?

See, that's all I was talking about...Customer Service. Taking care of your people. Sturmruger, Todd Duncan did a great book called "High Trust Selling". He emphasizes putting your clients needs before your own. Zig Ziglar said "If you help enough people get what they want, you'll eventually get what you want". Whoa, wait a minute. I'm not rebuting anything just asking a question on the Customer Service. I was just trying to offer more or less offer a solutionairy statement.

If you work at a cellular phone store isn't that your job? Customer Service? Taking care of your customers. Why not? They sign you up for a two year agreement everytime you buy a stupid phone, so why not stick it back to the man? We've gone from Customer Service and the Customer is always right, to this isn't covered or that ain't covered. What have we lost along the way. It seems like poor decision making along the way led to an unfulfilling career. I think Morris Schechtman (Aurthur from Working without a net and the Fifth Wave) said it best "Poor actions and poor choices over time leaving you sucking on the icicles of regret".
