  1. I think 922r addresses building guns from parts. Not buying an imported weapon and modifying it to your purpose.

    I believe you are correct

    GCA, 18 U.S.C. § 922®, specifically states the following:

It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under the…[GCA]…Section 925(d)(3).as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes ….

  2. OK, looks like I'm going to invest in two L2/6's to start, and have my two 6 round caddies for backup.

I went with the L2/4 because I like to cant them, and I thought that the L2/6 may not work out that well for me. Plus I use ELS clips, and the way the spacing is on my belt, I thought the L2/4 would fit better. Granted I could have spaced the ELS plates farther apart, but I didnt want to go that route.

Have you already ordered the L2/6's?

Do you shoot 3 gun out at Rio? If so, I will be out there next weekend, if you want to check mine out. Also I have quads if you are interested in checking those out.

Yes, I have ordered two L2/6's.

Yes, I'm a new member at RSSC - mostly shooting Tues night steel. I have a gray beard & usually wear a black H&K hat. If you see me please introduce yourself.

Will do for sure. Are you shooting 3 gun out there tomorrow?

Won't be there tomorrow. We have guests from the east all weekend. I just got my two L2/6's........now the practice begins. With my old caddies and the new holders, I can carry 24 on my belt + 9 loaded.

  3. Kampr, Thanks for the picd.have you used it for load 2 yet? Wanna talk to a couple people before I start machining on a $1k shotgun.

As stated, I just started trying the “load-two” and am already beating my weakhand loads. (which I thought was decent) My biggest problem is getting a consistent grab from the FSL8’s. Once in hand, getting them in the gun is pretty slick. I like them for weakhand, but there’s probably a better system for me.

What helped the most was moving and smoothing out the radius at the front of the receiver cut, which was acting like a ski jump. I also took the bottom of the receiver to the bottom of the serial number. I know some of our friends across the big pond have had their receivers restamped (where it should be)and went though the original number.

Kampr, looking at your pics, how does smoothing out the front of the receiver cut help in loading? I can see where you knocked the corner off, but I don't understand how it helps. If you're hitting the 'ski jump' haven't you already missed the tube? I just got my L2 shell holders and haven't started practicing yet. What am I missing?

BTW, you were kind enough to show me your 1301 at RSSC a few weeks ago. I just got mine from Grabagun.

  5. Very tempting... hopefully there will be a 15% off code for January or February.

Looking at their recent codes, and using my super-secret decoder ring...in January try MS131 or TC131. If they follow their pattern, February will be MS228 or TC228......or maybe not.

  6. Have you considered the primary arms 1-6? It seems to compare very similarly to the Mtac and s a 1-6 for only about $300.00.

Yes, i did see that. It appears to be what I'm looking for, 1x for fast acquisition and 6x to see my misses bigger........and within budget.

  7. New guy gearing up for matches here. I've got a Beretta 1301 with a Nordic+4. Looking at AP shell carriers, but I'm not sure how many I need. How many rounds is a 'typical' shotgun stage? I know nothing is typical, and stages can be multigun, so would 9 at the start and 10 on the belt be a good starting point for me?...Should I order two L2/6's or two L2/4's, or one of each? thanks for any advice.

  8. The 1x is much more useful, and more often than, 6x.

With both scopes having the same reticle, I don't see how the 1.5 would be any less useful than the 1x for close up targets. I'm currently using a very old cheap Bushnell 1.5-4.5x20

I was more concerned about having the 6x as our local matches shoot out to 250 - 400 yds.
