  1. I shoot 2 S&W 686's and find the standard grips with a few sharp edges sanded off about the best for speed versus accuracy. It will depend on hand size. I highly reccommend avaoiding rubber. High quality wood is best. A friend at the club only uses revolvers ( beats nearly all the auto guys at NRA ) and he has a modified hogue NRA style grip for his usual 686. No finger grooves and checkered on sides and back.

I am surprised that seeing as 98% of revolvers sold are 6 rounds or less, that ICORE has gone the hicap route. It seems daffy to me. The top boys/gals seem also to use moon clips.

  2. Don't count on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy a real comffy couch for the lounge. It will say lots of hassle at 2.00am or later.

  3. I shot my sister-in-laws P18 in 9mm at our North Island Champs two years ago for a laugh. Went real well until they started putting targets in places I couldn't see. Other than the fact that you have to shoot minor, in Std/Ltd, you can go real fast as the recoil is non existent and we modified the mags to take 20 and still fit in the Std Class box. The gun was mostly out of the box except for a beavertail safety and an ambi-safety. Trigger has now been polished up to let off clean and tidy at 4lb. Use 115gr JHP at about 1150fps for Std/Ltd, they cycle well and don't kick. I wouldn't put a comp on the pistol, unless you wanted to go to open/major. If you do, I would go to 38Super or Supercomp. The 9mm mags should work with 38Supercomp. I have a Para for NRA and the 9mm mags work real well in 38Super.

Just be real careful with the load length.

  4. I sold 2 to a commercial reloader who has purchased a couple of 650s off me. The guy who used to have to fill the primer tubes can now spend more time actually making ammo/money instead of spend too much time at the shrinks office. He thinks they are a godsend. Yes they do occaisionally load primers downside up, adjust them properly and they will do their job. He has loaded nearly 100,000 since getting the RF's. I have loaded maybe 7,500 on mine.

  5. I have a Benelli M1Super90 28" Camo, sorry about the camo I got it cheap, I have just modified a spare Combat model magazine tube ( it is about 18" long and holds seven on its own ) to fit onto the existing std mag tube ( which holds three ) this gives me 10+1 nearly eleven + 1. The mag tube is about 3" short of the muzzle. My boss reckons if I make the joiner collar 3" long it will look like an U/O, best part is I should get 12+1.  We will start on this when I can find a piece of alloy tube. The standard magazine extensions which add four rounds are real easy to find here in New Zealand, I would have thought that up in the States it would be easier.

Although the old boys at the Clay Target club don't seem to see the funny side to letting go at an errant clay. Have fun or Fornicate Elsewhere

  6. We shot a similar stage at our Regional champs a couple of years ago. Five targets, shooter starts with pistol on table ready to rock. I was third with 3.8sec clean but I backed up a C, half second slower than my previous shot, @#%$!. The two guys who beat me were also Limited class shooters. I expect a fair amount of point shooting occured. The fastest open class guy admitted he just let rip.

  7. I have three Dillons to feed ( I started on a Square Deal, then a 550, and now a 650, I got so fond of the non red coloured presses I couldn't sell them ) so I get my daughter to fill my tubes using the RF100. It is awesome, she is as happy as a cat in a cream puddle. It gets her out from under my feet and I can burn through the loading. The only fee she demands is a go with the 38Super next time at the range, not bad for a 7 year old. I just love kids like that.

  8. For gods sake. The man can't even keep his eyes open when he shoots. Just watch LW1 when he shoots the smiley face, every shot he blinks. I can't shoot that good with my eyes open. Shit, he must be great.

  9. The best/worst "mistake" I made was when shooting a regional championship one stage required the shooter to negotiate 7 or 8 paper targets then enter a van through the side door, exit throught the rear ( side door removed for EASY entry ) then engage 5 paper targets just outside the rear door. I was so intent on not tripping going out I forgot that when you step into a van you must duck. I stepped UP quickly into the door frame. Head and iron met, iron won. I stopped for a sec. then charged out the back of the van shot the targets and finished the stage. The RO handed me a large lump of hair and I needed a sit down. Visit to local doctor, tetanus shot and a zero stage. Next day left earmuffs on all day and shot like a real demon. Shame about the haircut.
