Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Feedback from USPSA on this placement rule change: We've actually effectively done both; the statement changed to the same one as Open division, which is "Yes, see 5.2.7.2", which is the height to belt language. Distance to belt didn't change. We simply removed the reference to E3 (the behind the hip bone requirement) from those 3 divisions. I think the minutes were mis-worded a little bit. The intent was that there is no restriction on position on the belt, just height to belt and distance from the belt. The bottom line is that there is no longer a "behind the hip" placement restriction for SS, Production, and Single Stack.
  2. That was taken directly from the BOD meeting notes. Based upon the press release, it says it is only reference to App. E3.
  3. "Motion by Area 7, second by Area 3, to change the rules and appendices to update holster and magazine retention positions as specified below. Changes to be effective upon release" When I emailed USPSA, they were referring to the release of the new rules not the BOD meeting notes. Either way, the rules are supposed to be published today so can all start fiddling with our belts today.
  4. "Appendix D4, D5, and D7 line 12 Change to 'NO' 'Restriction on position of equipment...NO'" The BOD removed the entire restriction on Line 12 including 5.2.7.2 and Appendix E3.
  5. "Allowing the use of a functional mounted light to a firearm that meets division weight and size limit otherwise will allow those members to compete in a division where their firearm is most competitive." For production, you still need to fit within the "BOX", which means you can't really run a a light that's too long and you can't exceed the weight limit.
  6. I reached out to USPSA on the effective date of the changes, and it is effective as soon as the rule changes are published and they are publishing them today.
