Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I ordered the 10 lb spring. I’ll let you know how it works out. I also found a case of S&B 124 from in my stash. I’ll try those as well.
  2. TL/DR: will lighter different springs make the Czechmate shoot minor loads with the comp installed? I found this forum while trying to gather more information about a Christmas gift from my wife, a CZ Czechmate Parrot (yeah, she’s the best!). Surprisingly, there is not all that much written about the Czechmate and even less about the Parrot variant. It really is a fine handgun, well made and well fitted. I like the feel, and really like the trigger. Most recently I have been shooting a Sig p210 and a Sig 320 X-five. The CZ is light years ahead of the Sigs. The Czechmate comes set up as a standard pistol with front and rear sights installed. It also had a small thumb rest installed. Nothing much in the manual says how to attach all the included parts, but it is pretty obvious how they go together. The rear sight was nearly impossible to remove to replace it with the racking handle. Finally broke down and bought the MGM Sight Pusher with the slide shoe for the CZ75. It was at the limit of that tool to finally remove the rear sight but I succeeded. Mounted up the Cmore and larger thumb rest. I find it cool when the first shot with a new sight or scope is dead on for windage. It tells me that all of the holes are pretty well machined. Fortunately, the larger 20 round magazines are still available so I bought 5 more. Not sure when Mags will be hoarded into oblivion, even for an uncommon gun. Right now I am shooting the CM in a rather odd configuration. I have the CMore installed but I am not using the Compensator. With the ammo situation as it is, I have mostly 115 grain bullets. I have a few thousand 124 grain as well. The 115 grain will not cycle the action with the compensator installed. The 124 grain will fire two shots before failure to eject. The gun came with an additional recoil spring but it gave no reference as to whether it is identical to what is already in the gun, or if it is lighter or stronger. Not sure if the gun will “wear-in” and begin cycling the lighter loads with the compensator. I doubt it. I reload, but as with ammo there are no 147 grain bullets available to make some major loads for testing. I want to shoot the gun with the Compensator installed because I like the added weight of the gun. I understand it will not “compensate” due to the lack of gas. Are there any suggestions as to other springs that may be available to cycle the minor loads with the compensator installed. Where would I get them and how are they measured. I have not been much of a pistol competitor but I may try my hand at a few small local matches. I really am blessed to have a steel plate range (out to 300 yards) in my backyard so I can shoot and test anytime. Any information or suggestions y’all may have, I’m listening. Thanks
  3. I am new here too. I know I will recognize your carpet!
  4. Found this forum while searching for good information about a Christmas gift from my wife, a CZ Czechmate Parrot. I'm not into pistol competition (yet) but shot registered skeet for many years. I'm one of the lucky ones who has a steel plate range in my backyard. Looking forward to learning more about shooting for accuracy and speed.
