  1. Came today. Works ok in my 92. The fit is good, went into my gun just great. The issue is, it really doesn't project out much, so more of an indexing aid than a recoil control aid. Which, again, is fine.

  2. The retaining pin was fine. The extended firing pin was the only damaged part. I just ordered a new one. I'll deal with the hassle of returning the old one later. I'm reassured that I'm the rare guy this happened to. Love my Sp 01s!

  3. I was at the start of a steel shoot with my SP 01 decocker and the first round out of the mag wouldn't chamber. Tried another mag, same thing. Switched to backup gun, had a good shoot. Went home, checked out gun. The round was catching under the firing pin! The pin had snapped and was sliding out far enough to block the round from chambering. Bad ju-ju. I just ordered another extended pin from Cajun. Anyone ever dealt with this or is this just my luck? Oh, I use a Cajun's recommended retaining pin, not a solid one. It is supposed to save the pin from just such an occurrence!

  4. I did. This post is more about, "Hey, there is a cool, inexpensive thingy for your Beretta and Taurus that you could try", than bemoaning the fact that they are currently out of stock. I'm patient.

  5. I just found out about the 92 x Takedown lever, part # C5J480. It has a pedal for indexing your left thumb, which I want. It also fits my older Taurus 92, which is also cool! Only problem is that it's out of stock at Beretta and Midwest Gun Works. Aaargh!

  6. Cheap front strap checkering! I bought Wilson Combat's 100B checkered frontstrap for my 1911 and it worked great. I bought another for my Ruger Mark III and it works awesome! You need to bend it a bit and really press it down on the edges (I used the handle of the screwdriver I removed the grips with) before tightening the grip back on. The results are custom!

Here's a list of most popular guns used at the 2020 USPSA Nationals in Carry Optics.  P320X5 Legion was also a top firearm used at the IDPA nationals in CO.  I just bought an Atlas Athena for IDPA and I'm still trying to decide whether I like it better than my Q5 Match SF with the Walther performance trigger and sear.  The Walther is a great gun and the performance trigger/sear combo really brings it alive.  Only issue with the trigger is that the blade safety requires a little tuning or it can lock up the trigger on a non-perfect trigger pull.  A little delicate surgery and it is perfect.

That graphic is awesome! I wonder how great the G34 is that it needed to be counted twice!

  8. Nope, sorry.

    App D7 line 22.2

A plug that fits flush (extends no more than 0.10")

with the heel of the grip is allowed.

    Plugs that

extend below the heel are not allowed.

yep, print targets off for free. tape them around the garage in a way that one set is classifier esque and another set more like a stage. then do 25% of your practice doing the stand and shoot stuff and then the majority of it on the stage array. well balanced, variety, cheap and fun.

    Yes, do this.

  10. You have this backwards, I think. Practice and experience with the DA pull will eliminate the need to prep the trigger. Not a safe thing to do at speed under match conditions.

  11. What got my reloads quick was being aware of my weak hand speed. I think we are so used to letting our weak hand fall at the speed of gravity that we don't even realize we are not pushing that hand down. We are pretty good at pushing our strong hand down to the gun on draws, but I think many people don't push the weak hand on reloads.  Just SLAP that hand as fast as you can on the magazine , without pulling the mag out, until you are sure you are really pushing that hand and not letting it just drop . Goodluck

Haven't seen the podcast. In the pre-release video for the shadow 2 they talked about trying to make it work well for a wide range of hand sizes and the lady that shot for the CZ team said she had input. I never felt like my S2 was uncomfortable for fairly large hands ( I guess I have average sized hands fo a 6'1 person). it just did not point naturally for me.

My bad. The Training Group Live episode 32 is a discussion between Joel Park and Andreas Yankopolus about getting used to the gun you have or getting a new gun. Both men say they regret moving from the SP 01 to the Shadow 2 because the SP was a better fir for them. They both have smaller hands.
