For what its worth.
Mag tube: $52.50
Base pad Dawson SNL: $32.49
Grams spring kit: $17.00
Total:101.99
Tuned mag: $125.00 and it will work 110% with an easy 20 rounds reloadable.(priceless)
BK
I know I thought of that as well, but the winters are long in North Dakota so you got to try and stay busy.I bought a few tuned ones and thought I would give it a try myself ,didnt think I pull my hair out seemed easy enough!!!

Are they single-stack 38 Super mags?
.40 for STI 2011
-
The ingredients =140mm + base pad(+1) + Grams Engineering
spring/follower kit p/n FKS-11
Why can I only get 17 rounds in this mag I built,The tuned mags I bought I can get 19 or 20.This is my first attempt and would like to know what I am doing wrong.
Any Ideas??

Are we talking bullets, or loaded ammo?
185's are much cheaper. That will make it attractive for bulk ammo sales, but cheap loads may not be good from a performance, or reliability standpoint.
There are a lot more competitors using 230's, but 200's and 185gr. are still viable. The only way to know what works for you, is to give each a fair shake.

Have always shot 45 ACP 230 gr. FMJ but was looking for ammo for the coming year and saw alot of 185 gr.What are the benefits of one over the other?
I started shooting single stack last year at the nationals and plan on it this year also.

Shooting in the 08 Nationals in April and have not shot Single Stack in USPSA only Limited, question is the CR Speed Belt legal.I searched this thread but could not find an answer. Also will be using the 773 mag pouches Help Please
-
I shoot right handed left eye also, but can also shoot with the right eye.Head stays in one spot gun moves slightly, I find myself switching in the middle of a string depending on the angle and I dont really notice I'm doing it,OK I'm odd ,just saying I wouldnt worry to much about it.

Coming from Limited and am going to start shooting Single Stack also. I have 5 SS mag pouches on my belt but I look like a porcupine. Is 5 to many? or not enough. Using Safariland 773's
-
OK Thank you, I did search and found a relating thread and all seem to point to the 771 or 773
-
OK what are 773's or who makes them please

Along with Limited I want to start shooting Single Stack next year, would like some advice on mag pouches for CR Speed belt. I like to start at the top it seems to save two or three extra purchases.

I want to start shooting Single Stack and have a BladeTech DOH holster for my 1911,when I measure it seems to be borderline legal but leaves some doubt.Does anyone know or use this holster in matches?

Thanx all, sounds like the drill bit and loctite cure is what I'll try.

The pin on the front of the rear sight has started working itself out when shooting,is there a fix for this?

Thanks for all your advise and help, this forum is the best for us new guys.Well I went and bought a couple boxes of Winchester White box and Remington 180 grain factory ammo put 100 rounds thru it and it ran like a champ, not one mis-feed so I did it again and it ran just fine.WHEW!
I also called Bob and he also was a tremendous help! willing to do anything to make things right, he also had me check the extractor and the ammo. It seems to be the Precision Delta ammo with all the mixed brass plus I notced it seems pretty dirty when I took the gun apart, but their behalf they were very sorry and will take the 1000 rounds back and send me a box of new ammo to try.
Thanks again for all your help!

Yeah, sorry it would be 1.18 (beginner)
I wanted to get a feel for what might be the issue before call Bob,I live in rural North Dakota and its a hundred miles to Fargo, so before I went I want to try and get the right ammo. I used to have a CZ TS and it cycled Precision Delta ammo fine. I'll take any input before I go up there, once I leave town there are only 2 stop signs
Yes its a new gun

Have not tried factory ammo and am not sure of the specs ,I believe they said 1.88 long and are the remanufactured ones. They are the tuned mags ,4 of them and I get the same results with all 4
Is the guide rod issue possibly something I could fix?

Recently purchased from BRAZOS Edge Plus .40 with Brazos mags, cannot get the pistol to cycle completely,it will not push the cartridge all the way into the chamber. This happens every other round. Am using Precision Delta 180 grain major, have tried the longs and that made it worse.Anyone know whats up? The tip of the bullet will have smile on the outside edge it when I rack it out if that helps.
Need Help!

Just purchased a Brazos Edge,I do not reload and have been using 180 gr. round,is there any advise on other choices that may run better. Any particular brand?
I've used the search engine but most info is for reloading, got tired of searching.

Can anyone help me with instructions on how to get the plastic mag well off,I cannot seem to figure it out without breaking it off, which will be the next step!
Now thats what I call directions, Thank You
Has anyone tried to apply the mag wells available from cz on Angus's site, it says they need some fitting, can a novice gun tinkerer get it done
