  1. I shoot primarily 2011 style pistols

a buddy that comes to the indoor match once in a while ordered these brought a 100 to me

for an unbias  review i mixed them in after loading into 400 rounds everyone popped a d felt the same

    good deal

  2. Doing dryfire with a timer is great however you get these ridiculous goals to chase and can create bad habits

    i do both now

running as fast as you can to beat a timer can result in misses or bad hits

once you shoot long enough you know the feeling of a good run

i think the timer is a good tool to work down par times for movement and transitions

it is good for drills as well however trying to shave time in everything else but shooting gets great results

  3. Boomstick

    been trying that as well

    never happens

    its the weirdest problem

everything i have tried to isolate it results in like there never was a problem

maybe eating 3 4 tenths is worth it

  4. If i shoot just 2 shots its 2 alpha every time
For the second reply im seeing 2 sight pictures just not in the right time

this only happens on close stuff

and it isnt 100% of the time

ive trained some sort of super bad habit in over last few years

i will try to get some video my buddy is super into that and ill ask him to do it for me

  5. What is actually happening to make it easier to understand bc jt is a bit weird

im moving my eyes off the first target second shot before i shoot

my brain is telling me ive shot that second shot

but in that literal split second it happens after or something

its damn odd that it only happens on the first target

and i agree slower then faster i started trying that today

  6. I feel odd shooting video of myself i know a lot of guys do it and its a big help

i feel like i already look like an idiot not sure i wanna see it 😂

    thats my issue with video

ill give it a serious try thats the only thing ive never done

i watch tons of guys videos and they all look better than what i perceive i am doing

that may not be the case but i feel like i look like barny fife shooting 😂

  7. I totally get what you are saying yes i am shot calling remember this is only on the first target off the draw

    everything on a timer

    the scenario is blake drill

i shoot it in 1.6 the first target could be delta mike 3 out of ten times alpha delta or alpha mike other targets fine

if i shoot the same drill slowed to about 1.9 the issue almost disappears ive been fighting this for 3 years

i recently switched to open due to getting a bit older 40 bc i just could not see irons fast enough anymore

what i believe is happening is my brain says i fired but i havent yet and the reason im struggling i dont know how to correct that

im guessing im anticipating a 13 split and sometimes it may be an 18 just long enough to pull off target

this started happening more when i wanted to get my transitions down

i shot tick tock the other night and had 4 alpha across three targets my 3rd target in that array was 3 alpha delta on the upper target in the wrong spot resulting in a mike and extra hit

    its a super weird issue

how can you have great hits then all the sudden have this odd thing happening

it’s totally holding me back and craping out my confidence in matches

so i go to a match back way off to avoid penalties

i can do well like that but at a bigger match results in an 85-90% finish bc i  backed way down

unsure how to dryfire it out

only thing i can come up with is to start over and retrain from nothing

    like blake drill 3 sec

for instance just for fun i shot a bill drill all alpha 1.28

    it’s frustrating

maybe im doing it wrong 😂

  8. So i have this weird habit on close targets of pulling the second shot of the first target i either scrape a delta or its not there

i know what im doing i know why im doing it

nothing i have tried short of firing 3 fixes this issue i see the sights twice on the alpha

i believe my brain perceives this as the shot has been taken by reflex

i dont see it dragging off in live or dry

if i se up 3 targets 2 of ten times ill shoot alpha delta or mike on the first then 2 alpha 2 alpha sometimes charlies

any tips on how to correct this

it does not matter what platform or division

this is a vision and timing issue but only on my draw target

    its getting very frustrating

i may not be looking at it right

i never had any formal training or had anyone look at my shooting

    i never take video

i want to be able to fix this so i can keep the speed

if i slow down a touch it goes away but the fact is if im not doing this on two other targets why the first

    thanks for any help

  9. I saw a lot of comments saying no one is going tondo this or that to their limited gun

they make options to use existing cut to mount a dot as well as you can load 40 minor a ton of guys already do it for 3 gun so they dont have to have two different guns for uspsa and 3 gun. I even have seen a few production guys shoot 40 minor in production. I would have loved to seen this be major i can see why they didnt.

one reason is bc most of the manufacturers are making these types of firearms in 9mm to do major and keep all the manufacturers happy somewhat it would have to include 9 major and after that all the manufacturers would start complaining guns are breaking. I can also see them not doing in due to open.

i think it will be a great addition. I too would have loved to see it added to co but i think it will be fine

This question is for those who once shot with one eye open and now shoot with 2 eyes open.

How long did it take you to fully make the transition?

I have shot with one eye open for 6 years and made M class in Production.  I have plateaued a bit and want to try shooting with both eyes open.

I am asking how long it takes because I am shooting Area 1 in 20 days.

I plan to go all in on dry fire and live fire to make the transition, but wonder how long it took you guys to do this?  How long did it take for your "2 eye game" to equal your "1 eye game?"

Took 3 mo of dryfire and live for me to feel confident enough to try in a match

    however

i realized early it was going to hold me back or just awkward

i see a lot of guys use tape on their eye pro

i never could get that to work

just work on it and it will come

Than your builder doesn’t know how to build a 9mm. If any builder can’t get a 9mm to feed short factory ammo he needs to find another profession. I test all the 9mm I build with reloads and factory. Then again I cut all my own feed ramps…etc.

    it was a honcho

Here is the reality that all 2011 owners should know. That platform was designed on the OAL of a .45 Caliber cartridge (1.275") which is much longer than most off the shelf factory 9mm ammo. The SAAMI Spec OAL range for 9mm ammo is 1.000" - 1.169". 2011's can and will be more finicky with feeding short OAL ammo.

Plastic Fantastic (Glock, S&W, SIG, CZ, Walther, etc) pistols that are BUILD SPECIFICALLY FOR the 9mm OAL ammo will obviously feed more reliably with SAAMI Spec 9mm ammo. 2011 platform pistols need special attention in mag and ammo tuning to ensure that it will feed reliably. There is no getting around that fact. No, its not like Lego pieces that just snap together and you can't screw it up. With proper Mag and Ammo tuning you CAN make a 2011 just as reliable as a Plastic Fantastic gun. That obviously takes testing and tuning effort which the user is tasked with figuring out.

If a 2011 owner can't perform the fundamental mag & ammo tuning REQUIRED to ensure that it feeds reliably, then its probably not the correct platform to be using as that is just the tip of the iceberg. Its a bitter pill to swallow, but some people are just not skilled enough or willing to put in the effort to figure this stuff out. Switch to another platform that is fairly monkey proof and likely much cheaper as well.

I was going to say this then saw this

ammo has to be long first 1.16 is short as id ever go and I normally try to run 1.175 9mm and 1.185-1.2 40

these days 1.185 to save a tad

    i have zero feed issues

i recently had an all steel match and i really didnt want to switch presses over so I bought some factory recommended for uspsa shooting knowing even then it was iffy

that thing jammed like crazy every other round

changed press loaded 1.175 not one issue

  13. Honcho use to be a great buy then they caught on and the price skyrocketed.

like a previous poster mentioned to get the whole thing with everything its like 8500 now

    no mags no extras

from my own eyes and experience at this price i think i would choose something else if i was thinking of buying now

    that is just me

if other guys are happy im glad they are and have a great outfit

  14. I have 2 170s 2 140s 9mm and 2 140 40

they all work great right out of the package

    great mags

and the price is unbeatable considering even when u bought mbx i dropped the guts for grams

atlas tunes every mag before it ships

    they are very solid

mine holds 28 plus one mbx 29 plus one

one atlas can get 29 but be pushing it

  15. My vote is for venom

i love atlas but they got a tad pricey

i have a honcho and it runs no problem and it is a very cool configuration but i also have a venom and it is just awesome

    don is great guy

    carne makes a great gun

dan bedell built max michel guns and clint upchurch

    infinity obviously

really best bet go to your match see what guns are running and what ones have issues ask to shoot them all and decide what suites you the best

i know a lot of guys struggle with chech on bullet ojive and mag issues to the point one of our guys siliconed a spot in the grip so the gun would run
