I've got two X5's (pre-Legion) that I've been shooting in Production.

One has a nicer trigger and a better silicon carbide grip job than the other so I shoot that 90% of the time with the other being a backup.

I'm going to set up the backup for Carry Optics.

I know technically I can swap the CO slide onto the primary grip/FCU and get the better trigger.

Are there any notable negatives about swapping slides and FCUs back and forth with Sig P320's?

No issue, but while you are setting up the back up I'd do a carbide grip on it to be consistent.

Anyone here ever heard the Johnny Cash song  "One piece at a time" The story goes he was a worker at the Cadillac factory and wanted a Caddy so bad and could not afford one, so over the years he stole a part here and there and with a mish mash of parts he built his own caddy.

Well, I wouldn't steal stuff and couldn't afford / justify a Tanfo Gold Team, so rather than set my aspirations on open division I thought I'd take the less costly route and I'd go limited and got a new Limited Custom in .40. I figured with the LC I could build the equivalent of the GT over time, or if the finance stars aligned I could buy the real deal.

First I found the magwell... no easy task nowadays, they seemed scarcer than hen's teeth. Later on I saw the GT grips at EAA on sale... getting close, maybe I wouldn't have to spring for a whole GT if I found an upper. Then one day, WOW I stumbled onto a NIB complete V12 slide. In the end, I didn't save a bunch of bucks maybe $200 +/- but I'm able to shoot two divisions with the same frame.  If I had held out for a GT I'd only be able to shoot one division!

The .38 super slide from my Lim pro also fits the frame but I'll not be starting up with super again any time soon.

What of mag extensions are you running with the magwell?  I have the Hennings and for some reason my stock magwell wont work with them.

Same for me, except I just got a 9mm barrel and threw it in my 40 slide and it works great.

I will be getting one of these slides for CO, but for now my 40 slide is working fine with the PD 9mm barrel.

This is kind of a game changer for me.  Did you get one from PD and fit it yourself?

Are you using his base pads or another brand? Thanks

First post here. My one pistol is a 4” M2.0 and I am seriously considering the Floyd’s magwell. Are you or anybody else aware of other extensions that do work with it?

Henning basepads also fit Floyd's magwell.  I believe the Blueline +3's do!

You could always buy a fullsize 320 in .40 and add a legion grip module to it.

    I have done this!

I bought a CPO P320 40 in full size, a Springer Precision tungsten guide rod and used my OG X5 frame with Gray Guns trigger - and this was before I got the TXG module.

I bought the TXG module and played around with my "poor man's LimMaj" setup... pretty damn sweet!

I think adding a Dawson fiber front sight, a lighter recoil spring, and the GoGuns USA *thumb rest [generic]* can definitely take it to the max.  I have a Tanfo Limited 40 that I am playing with now, otherwise I'd put more time into the Poor Man's LimMaj P320 setup.

  6. I have the Legion grip module on my previous gen X5.  Weight feels great, but I like a super tacky/grippy grip, so I have some Talon sandpaper grips on it.

For me, I can feel a difference, but as most said, it is probably not a necessity.  You can play with guide rods and recoil spring weights and master you grip for a lot cheaper, THEN if you must, buy the grip module.

I'm a tinkerer, so I figured I'd play around with the module and see what all the fuss is about!  lol

Which base pads do you recommend?

If you have the Legion x5, get some Henning +6 extensions with the Grams followers.  They will make your 17rd mags into 23 reloadable.  I can fit 23 now, but 22 is pretty comfortable.  Plus, the extension gives you a little more "meat" to grab onto when going for a reload.

  8. Depending on who you squad up with, you'll see more experienced shooters and RO's go quick with the commands after completing a stage.  There are no bonus points for unloading your gun quickly.

Take your time through the RO's commands.  If you aren't sure what he/she said, ask them to repeat it, and be diligent in your actions.
