Quick question for any forum members in Southern California.

Where do you practice? Most shooting ranges won’t let you work on draw and fire presentations leaving you just standing flat footed poking holes in paper - though that’s certainly better than nothing. I go to the desert and practice but that requires camping overnight which limits the frequency I can go. 

Any recommendations?

First time to compete in a pistol competition last night and it’s still kind of a blur. Deepest thanks to kneelingatlas and Chris for breaking the ice. I sucked pretty badly but it was FUN! Definitely going to compete some more. 

If you live in  San Diego then you know exactly what we’re up against here in the once golden state, eh?

Thanks for responding to my first post and giving some advice about how to begin.  I would love to go to my first match once I figure out which gun I want to use .      

I’ve got a G17C, second gen, that I just had a Trijicon RMR installed.

Anotherl G17, third gen, stock except a smoother trigger.

Sig P220 that I had ramped and polished with a new hammer and trigger.

Kimber Custom Covert .45 all stock.

G23 all stock.

I like shooting all of them.  Any suggestions as to which to use?

Any suggestions as to where I could go watch or even participate in my first competition here in California?
