+/- 1 hour. Spring is North of Houston and Impact Zone Range is just west of Houston.

If you can still cancel it without fees, you might want to go through them discount internet sites, expedia, priceline, etc. I usually get a package hotel/airlines/rental where the car costs 10-13/day.
Still watch out for those hidden charges regardless of your choice of rental companies.

If you ever venture south, we have matches here in Houston that might b worth your while, too. Welcome to the forums!

I am a lefty and would rather buy 2 right-handed pistols than one (very very cool) custom left-handed pistol. I have never been limited by the configuration of the gun. I can just imagine trying to get left-handed extractor or ejector parts quickly if needed.
I am extremely impressed by the work. It's great that he can build himself a left-handed gun. The price just does not justify buying one (IMHO) as there really is no advantage....as any current left-handed GM (there are left-handed GMs right? )
Yes, there are a number of them.

It's the 6" between our ears.
Open allows me to throttle up and most of that translates well to Limited.
Open isn't making us a better shooters it just lets us be the shooter we are.
S#it that was deep huh?
Deep enough but I like it. I can't find a Yoda emoticon appropriate for it.

MG 124 CMJ's w/ 4.4gr. of W-231, oal of 1.140 and crimp of .378 repeatedly gave me a fourteen foot groups at 100 yards. THAT'S FOOT AS IN FEET.
MG 124 JHP's w/ 4.4gr. of W-231, oal of 1.140 and crimp of .378 repeatedly gave me an sixteen inch groups at 100 yards. Repeat inches.
I went all over the place with powder load, oal, and crimp to no avail.
I believe it has something to do with the little incert at the rear of the bullet.
I never noticed much difference at 10 or 15 yards but at 25 yards there was a difference.
I used up the 3750 CMJ's and have since purchased over 10,000 JHP's.
I still use the MG JHP's and think the Montana Gold people and products are great except for the 124 CMJ for accuracy.
Best regards,
Interesting test. Just curious, what pistol did you use.

I haven't tried Black Bullets but you might want to check them out.
I have heard a lot of good things from them.Black Bullets
I know what you mean 'bout Open guns. In my entire time shooting USPSA/IPSC, I probably shot 80-90% Open.
Way too much fun! Enjoy!

I did a 'limited' test in my open, both 124 CMJ and FMJ MG burning VV 3n38 will group sub 1 inch at 25 yards. PF ~172. I shot it benched.
Shot about 20 + rounds for each profile.
I prefer CMJ but if it runs out tomorrow, I'll use FMJ in a heartbeat.
Personally, at the distance we shoot, both profiles are optimal. Choose your own, make it run in your gun of choice, practice x infinity,
shoot matches and have fun!

What happened to the SP-01?
I'm glad you're shooting Open. I'm sure you'll like it for a long time.

Micah,
Great post! I'm no Glock shooter but this will definitely help me and a lot of folks in the future. Thanks for taking the time!

Come to the dark side...

I'm in Houston and only 2 of matches are over 30 miles. But these 2 matches are 45 min and 1'-1'15" from home.

Don't mind shooting with shooters from lower class than me. It's an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience.
Lower class shooters can re-kindle your passion to tape and reset targets . One of the skills some of us tends to take for granted.

goes back to tumbler for 20-30 minutes with my special brass polish.

Welcome to the forums! This is my K-12 of shooting and related topics. Be sure to use the search feature to go through topics that might interest you. There are tons of them that you only find here and no where else.

I designed my reloading table where I can either sit on a bar stool or stand upright. But like shooting I prefer to stand while reloading. On a prolonged reloading session, I might pull the bar stool and sit but reloading is not as aggressive as when standing. YMMV.

Congratulations to the new Area Directors!

So I guess it'll take me another 5 years to reach a thousand? Congrats!

You'll need to try the other 3. All of them have great quality but you have to consider which fits your needs-facial anatomy, etc. Most folks like Rydons, I shoot with Noyz/Genetyk. There are several lens configuration that you'll also have to try.
