  1. Hello Forum Considering the age old debate regarding feeding a Glock lead, I'm curious about the Bar-Sto barrels. With a mountain of lead (for reloading) that I've acquired over the years.............what say the forum members on these barrels. Thank you!
  2. Found it.............metering issues. Thanks
  3. Hello...........are you able to you describe the difficulties that I would encounter using Varget? Thank you for responding
  4. CRE 223 it will be. Yes HesedTech, my concern was over pressuring. Many thanks to all!
  5. Hello again Would someone recommend a powder? Or would these be suitable? I have in possession; W231, Accurate #2, 5 & 7, Titegroup, Vargat Thank you again!
  6. Having re-loaded my fair share of 9, 40 & 45 using my Dillon 650. I've been feeding my toy 55 to 62 grain 5.56. With zero experience in reloading 5.56, I'm asking the forum if https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010924765?pid=586952 and https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/bullets/rifle/224-5-56mm/224-62-gr-hornady-lead-core-full-metal-jacket-no-steel/ will be comparable to what I've been shooting. Thank you!
  7. Hello BE forum Seeking a starting load for; H&K Mp5 8.5"(ish) barrel with suppressor @ 7500' elevation. The 7500' ele is what gets me. I've never made adjustments for 7500' For powder my options are; AA#2, AA#5, W231 (HP38) and Titegroup. 147gr RN Berry's as a projectile. Of course I want to stay subsonic around 1000fps. Any and all advice appreciated. Yes, I will chrono. Thank you!
  8. Hello Forum Have had the model 36 for years...............piles of brass & primers at my disposal. Powder on hand; W231, AA2, AA5, AA7 & titegroup. Would some one please chime in on their favorite loads for this gun? Target and hollow (NON +P loads of course) Thanks all!
  9. Makes sense. Similar profile. Thanks for responding!
  10. If it's not too much trouble, I'd very much appreciate taking a look your data. I feel more comfortable using the Nosler data (longer OAL) plus............. I'm having feed issues with the XTP @ 1.075" Thanks for the response!
  11. Hello Would someone please chime in on a starting load for Everglades 9mm 115gr JHP's RN. I'm unable to find anything specific in my manuals. The most comparable are listed as attachments. These are for my G43. They plunk and spin @ 1.11". The 1.075" COAL referred to in the one attachment presents feed problems. The Nosler COAL works. I'll be using W231 with Federal Small Magnum pistol primers. It's all I have. What confuses me is the disparity between the COAL and grs. Thank you!
  12. Hello forum Does anybody have a start load data for; Everglades 40 cal 180gr. JHP's? I'm thinking that if I use the Hornady 180 JHP W231 data as a starting point, with 4.1gr @ 1.125" I'd be safe. Chrono up from there
  13. Hello forum Does anybody have a start load data for; Everglades 40 cal 180gr. JHP's? I'm thinking that if I use the Hornady 180 JHP W231 data as a starting point, with 4.1gr @ 1.125" I'd be safe. Chrono up from there
  14. Would somebody back me up with a load for my Hk Mp5K ............4.53" barrel With Berry 124gr HBRN I'm getting numbers of 4.7 to 4.8grs Accurate Silhouette @ 1.15" Thanks again
  15. Thanks for the info zzt Understand the OAL issues you cited. Trying to stay out of the no go zones. And yes, I intend to send barrel out as soon as things settle down.
  16. Thanks BC17A and Memphis for the great info..........was unable to find the published Hornady data that you attached. I'm relatively new to reloading. My approach to reloading is to scour the net for published data (prefered) ask questions. The range where I can use a chrono is temporarily shut One looming question........... looking at the Hornady chart attached, Why is it not preferable to max out the COL for any particular barrel? I can get dummy Hornady 115gr XTP HP bullets @ 1.16" to chamber and eject just fine in a 9mm. The Hornady chart shows 1.075"Yes I realize velocity changes
  17. Hello Forum; I'm using AA#2 for Hornady 115gr HP's. This particular bullet / powder combo is not listed in the Western Powders load manual. Am I correct in understanding the following as a general rule for all reloading? "for a particular powder one can safely use data for the same weight FMJ as long as they start about 10% below maximum and work up to a safe load" The COAL's for my barrel plunks fine at 1.075" and anything longer doesn't work. Published COL is 1.100 which throws everything out the window and puts me in unsafe territory (or am I overthinking?) From the Western table; 115 SIERRA FMJ 3.7gr 971fps 4.6gr 1,088fps 34,202psi 1.100COL Thanks all!
  18. Hello forum..............hunting and searching, unable to find specifics. Can someone back me up on this load? I have a 1000 box of Berry's 147gr copper plated round nose and have been using AA#2 The best data I can come up with is; 3.4gr AA#2 @ 1.16" starting load ; 3.8gr AA#2 @ 1.16" max load What say the forum..................many thanks
  19. Yo Fly....................thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try when I acquire hollow points. My rounds are simply jacketed round nose.
  20. Thanks all..............Great info. I was somewhat in the ball park with my grains. My barrels are 3"ers. Per above by K Texas I found my COAL to be 1.125". Just trying to stay safe! Thanks again to all responders
