Yeah, but who knows how it will work... Frames will still be made in Czech I'm sure and who knows what other parts will be as well.

Only thing from czech here is an extractor spring and pin, slide stop spring, the s2 rear sight on the full size, and the mags (but really those are from Italy😉)

Eta: frames are cut from forgings like all dan wesson 1911 frames

You mix physics with religion 😀

But I mean if people want to be purely technical, this one is lower than a 1911😉, partially due to the slides being designed around .40 and 9mm, plus a little extra.

Ah, so this is where all the other DWX threads vanished to.

I know this specific gun is for Limited, but I hope they release some alternate versions. I want to see threaded barrels/compensators and optics.

It seems like they could make this into an interesting 3 gun open gun/USPSA open gun without too much effort.

Honestly probably fits in the 1911 section better than the cz section, way more parts compatibility.

Question for the guys that are saying they want one.

Im ALL for just buying guns because you want it.  However, at the current state of my life, newly married, new house, trying to do the right thing financially etc, I find myself justifying purchases of firearms based upon some perceived "need" or use category.

For those of you that want this pistol.  What do you intend to do with it?  I dont really see this out classing a 2011 in limited.  I do see it as another option which is kinda cool but man, there's a HUGE uphill battle there considering how effective the 2011 is at this point.  I see the bonus in this pistol as being its mags that wont require tuning.

For the compact variant, its not my cup of tea as i dont prefer to carry steel firearms.  Perhaps there will be an alloy frame down the road but for now, we are going with what we know in that its a steel frame.  So, once again, im not sure what the point of the compact pistol will be.  If YOU like to carry steel guns, rock on brothers but the real question that I have is does DW think that there's enough market demand for an oddball non 1911 steel carry gun??

I love new firearms and im glad to see this come, im just scratching my head slightly.

    The compact is alloy framed

from the pic.   this gun has 1911 frame rails not cz type. gun looks perfect.

DW quality is very good . i hope that they will not use steel that cz use for  cz guns .Otherwise it will be a new model of  recycled Skoda😉

    No skoda here😉

  6. Machine mark left over from angle relief cut on the back of the slide down the center normally blended away at first, but a little bit of cycling will cause the hammer to wear the blending and make the angle cut more evident.

Eta. Similar angle relief cut used was done back on the old champion slides, here is my 96' with a bit more wear. The standard shadow slide doesn't have it but it was brought back for the s2

  7. The grip section on the shadow 2 is identical in width to a standard sp01

Length between the parallel sections of the back strap and front strap is longer and of course the beaver tail cut and trigger guard undercut are the main points of difference.

Both the cz custom and factory aluminum grips have the nearly the same thickness (within like + or - .005 of each other.) The checkered cz custom grips are more contoured at the rear and feel a little thinner when used on an sp01 frame, on a shadow 2 frame the felt difference is lessened
