Grab a PRI Large handle gas buster and keep the stock seated on your shoulder while charging. Give it a fast tug. I added a delrin spacer on mine to reduce the stroke length on my PSA AR-V. I am actually looking to stiffen the recoil spring since it is throwing my brass pretty far with my suppressed loads. Hoping it keeps things closed longer for suppression. Large handled charging handles helps and keeping the gun braced for less give while charging helps a lot.
For recreational shooting… that’s all well and good.
My focus is competitive shooting; you don’t always have the luxury of a standing unloaded start and need to manipulate the charging handle without having it in your shoulder sometimes.

Maxim unloaded start at a recent match.

Grabbed one of these to try in my Davinci DG-9. The recoil reduction with even hot factory pistol ammo was impressive.
My findings were similar to everyone in the original post… crazy hard to charge the gun. Making unloaded starts or malfunction clearance difficult.
Playing around with a solution that’s looking promising.

Are you seeing any issues with the mags and the metal mag catch? Hearing some rumors that the mag catch is causing issues with the plastic Glock mags.
It’s a $20 Glock tube. Replace annually, if they’re getting worn by the mag catch. We’re not talking about a $120 MBX mag…

Who’s making holsters for these? You’re running a light, which probably offers many existing options that index off the light.
Who’s making a holster for a full length dust cover (no rail) and the square trigger guard profile?

At this point we can’t have a casual conversation and actually dive into the reasons of why shooters feel this way and it’s one of the reasons why most of the sub forums on here have died.
I’m not going to be a party to censorship any longer just because someone’s feelings got hurt because A2 and A8 got stomped on when reinstating A7D.
If that’s how this place is to continue to be ran, go ahead and send me a refund for the remaining part of my forum sponsorship because quite frankly, this is getting ridiculous.
I agree. There’s a reason this place isn’t flush with cash for the hosting.
It’s rarely fun and only sometimes informative to post here. It’s the ultimate echo chamber.
Hopefully this feedback gets to the powers that be… as I know it’ll be deleted.
This place is dying… and the extreme moderation is why.
Y’all have fun.

I've seen them. I like sausage, but I have better sense than to watch it being made. I wish I'd thought of that before watching those meetings.
And yes, I'm 99% sure that would be copyright infringement. However, I don't believe HQ has ever taken much to enforcing it.
You can’t copyright a sports rule set. Only it’s printing and (re)distribution.
Otherwise MLB could be suing every kid playing backyard ball and using a 3 strikes and your out batting rule. Or an MLB official ball.
HQ ain’t enforcing it because they legally can’t… not that legality has ever stopped this current cast of characters.

I thought you’d given up on the S and were sticking with your original Rival?

Was it a build up of the finish or to much material?
Mine is was burrs/machining that wasn’t cleared before coating. All was nitrided right over
So 3 chances to check it… all missed.

I tried a Brownells slide for a g19 a few years ago. It was trash. The FP safety plunger hole was full of **** and had to be reamed just to assemble the slide.
Not sure who’s making those slides… but they need their CNC taken away from them.

You haven’t chrono’d the load? In a handgun OR the pcc? Wow.
With a slow(ish) powder… and a 16” barrel… are you just you’re not getting jacket separation?? What’s the max velocity for those projectiles?

It’s not surprising that a Timney comes in the Gen3 Sig Mpx Competition. Sig and Timney both seem to have an affinity for beta testing products on end consumers.
Not the first person I’ve seen with this problem.

I was initially very pleased with the effectiveness of the maxim defense rdb buffer and could manage to charge the pcc with my support hand only, hard but doable. After about 400 rounds it required both hands to charge my pcc. I started using some 30-weight oil to lube and that didn't seem to have any effect either way. It still works as it should but is much more difficult to charge the weapon.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Does anyone have any insight into this issue?
If it’s gotten MORE DIFFICULT to charge with use… it’s either gotten fouled… OR the bearings and their respective holes have become deformed. Yikes.

My RL1100 with the standard Dillon decapping die punches through them without issue. Just needs one extra ugga-dugga

Maybe we should build a large range in Manhattan ... Central Park has the space. Hopefully JFK could meet the massive influx of shooters.
Clearly, I think someplace like Rapid City can handle what we would need.
Says the guy that hasn’t shot a nationals since 2016.
You watch what happens to ticket prices when 400+ shooters are trying to book airfare on one of the 14 daily flights into an airport like that…
90 minutes.
Miami. Orlando. Atlanta. Charlotte. Detroit. DFW. MSP. Houston. Phoenix. Vegas. SLC.
If an airline ain’t using it as a hub… it ain’t a major airport.
Obviously the mag-ban commie states are excluded

We have a large regional airport that has 5 airlines located 25 minutes from the range, it's more than large enough to handle all the people flying in.
I'm unsure as to why you feel this is a deal breaker for a range, if it was a setup like what's in Grand Island, NE where it's about impossible to fly into I would get it
Some carrier options… for sure.. but 14 flights a day? That ain’t large. Not even close.
-
Rapid city? South Dakota?
That’s gotta have even less airline options than Cameo. No way.
A Nationals even should ONLY been hosted within 90 mins of a MAJOR metropolitan airport. There should be no compromise on this.

Lower 1/3rd cowitness height is the highest I’d use for competition.
I have no issues with absolute cowitness height either. Most of my defensive AR’s are this height. Unless you’re using nightvision… not much need for higher than lower 1/3.

The shape and contour of the grip of the P10 series are amazing, the only thing that puts me off is the super slippery grip... Tried talon grip, had to replace it every few months with intense dry fire training every day... just too much hassle for me. If CZ comes up with a grip texture like Walther PDP, I would switch from S2 to P10F in no time
Give a look to the “Handle-It” grip brand. Much grippier than Talon. Durability is decent as well.

I like the 9am start. Much more civilized than putting gear on by flashlight before the sun rises.
I also like that 9a start. They’re able to get split squads done with daylight (usually), so it works out fine imo.
