less magazines going out mean less add revenue,,, Org is being mismanaged into the ground..

Joe - You are 100% right - this was not something I thought about when I was typing my post. Thanks for pointing this out - good call out on my oversight.

  2. High quality products when you receive them - But - You will need to call daily if you want your order to ship. I ordered “in-stock” sights and it took me 6 weeks to receive them.  Will not order from Wiland again.

  3. Hope I am wrong but I bet the total membership reduces by 10% - 20% as a result of this increase - but this may be what the board is wanting - less members paying more money now could reflect the same total amount of $$’s coming in with less monthly magazines going out each month which saves on printing and mailing costs.

Bottom line $$’s improves with less members.

Guess we will know more about this in the next 24-36 months…..if the BOD  continues to publish membership numbers in the magazine going forward like they have up to this point.

  4. This thread has me adding a CO2 extinguisher to my Wal-Mart list and it also will ensure that going forward I will spray my brass in my dedicated Tupperware plastic container outside of my reloading machine area.

More importantly - I will make DAM sure my powder hopper top is ALWAYS securing on.

Cannot imagine what would have happened if the OP had had an extra large (taller) powder hopper that was full with the top off….. (maybe nothing but one never knows because reading this thread took me aback with pause)…..

  5. Was talking to a CSR at Dillon Precision last week and he commented that they are fully stocked on reloaders now.

I wonder if the sales of reloaders have slowed as a result of primer prices and the current availability of 1000 round cases of 9mm brass cased ammo selling for $250-$300 shipped per case….  Again, just speculating, but this could be the reason Mark7 reduced their pricing also.  RCBS has HUGE rebates going on also right now….

Wonder if one would be better off purchasing two X-10’s vs. one Apex 10….

  6. Wanted to ask of anyone has ever loaded and shot any 9mm and/or 38 Spl. Sinterfire Frangible Projectiles?  I ask because I recently acquired 1000 projectiles of 90 Gr 9mm and 1000 projectiles of the 110 Gr. 38 Spl.

Sinterfire has load data on their website but before I load a small batch for each caliber I wanted to ask if anyone has any comments, guidance, feedback.  This unloaded projectile will “crack” into pieces when laid on a hard surface and struck (not so hard) with a hammer and this scares me a little. Never had a round crack into pieces like this non loaded projectile.

My plan is to use these ONLY for Steel Challenge practice and local matches….Thanks for any replies….

  7. Hesed’s comments caught my attention..  I have two 650’s and two 1100’s and have never considered buying a 750. In fact I picked up my second 650 (NIB) after the 750’s had been on the market for over a year because I really like the system and have never had a primer issue or detonation in 20 years of loading…..

I might have to pick up a 750 in the future and give it a spin…..Thanks Hesed for your detailed comments…..

    Yo, @Sigarmsp226

you get this installed yet?  Looking for updates as I think I’m going to order one of them this weekend. Just not yet sure which one.
    Thanks.

Cuz - How are you old friend.  Sorry for my delayed reply. First time signing in here in over a month……

No Sir - I received it but have not tried it. I also have a brand new DA3000 sitting here that I have not opened the boxes on yet either.  Three life events - Major spinal surgery, job loss after 32 years with the same company (notified after I ordered and received the DA3000 - HaHa - so it will not be returned and hopefully not sold) and major health issues with my wonderful 87 year young father has pulled me away from loading and shooting for the past 7+ months, but the spine has mended so I am 33% back to my old normal.  I will let you know when Ido get this upgrade installed…..Talk Soon Buddy

I have the pro model and the mini. The pro is way easier to adjust well worth the extra coin. Even my 115 grain 9mm bullets feed flawless.

Johnny - What was the cost of the Pro model?  It is currently out of stock and I am waiting for Eric Range Panda) to respond to my email as to when the Pro model will be back in stock.

    Thanks

    Mark

  10. Chapo - Since you already have your DAA powder checker in hand you might want to try something that I read about here on this forum years ago - that worked for the powder I was loading (231).

Take a razor knife with a new blade in the unit. Take the powder cop hard plastic tip and score small not to deep grooves into it. Score four or five grooves in it one way, turn the hard plastic head and repeat the process. This will rough up the small smooth head and allow a small air space between the powder and the plastic and it also reduces the amount of surface to surface contact between the hard plastic head and the powder flakes.

It may not eliminate the problem 100% but for me it reduced it to a easily manageable level and I was running this on my Mark 10 before selling it. Next time I am out in the shop I will pull this unit and get a couple of pictures of what I did that worked for me.

All good bro. Buy one !

Pulled this trigger today - sent all of my saved “gun and ammo fund”. - I wanted to get my order in before any possible 2023 price increase - if Dillon has one….More to come as I get it in (said two to three weeks lead time on shipping) and get it set up.  This is going to be a totally new adventure for me but I think it is going to be fun….and it is going to save me some time and wear and tear on my body in the long run…

Thanks again Johnnymazz for the recommendation and your posts related to how happy you are with your two units.

  12. George - Great idea I had not considered. The good news is I am two thirds of the required way to being a sure enough processing monkey. After pulling that handle 1500 times to trim my first set of LC brass into 300 B/O I decided to pull the trigger on a DA3000.  It is on order now (Dillon said it should ship in about 2-3 weeks) and I have a 223 conversion for my RL1100 so as soon as I get the DA3000 set up I will follow your recommendation. The final piece would be to buy a short trim head die for the RL1100 but they are $275 so that is going to have to wait (if I wait until the first of the year this same toolhead could be $300-$325 I fear)…...

Decided to pull the trigger on the DA3000 because Dillon always seems to put in place their price increases at the first of each year and a 5% to 10% price increase on a DA3000 would hurt my feelings since I was planning on getting one sooner or later.

Thanks George for your feedback - Always appreciate your kindness and guidance. Hope you and yours have a Happy Thanksgiving Sir…Mark
