  1. Hey guys I have two 1911 frames  I'd like to move but I have no idea where to find a price for em. One is a factory Rock Island complete frame and the other is a caspian with what I believe to be mostly Wilson internals. I'm not trying to use this as classifieds so anyone saying they're interested will be ignored lest I get bumped to zero posts and ridiculed by a moderator. All I need is a place I can do some research on similar products so I can list em elsewhere or here once I've got my 50 posts. Thanks in advance!

  2. If you decide on the double alpha pouches go to their website and look there. When I bought mine for single stack they had a 5 pack that was a slight discount. Any bit helps! Also I had to find a video of Saul kirsch setting up for bullets out but if you've done it before then you're good there too.

  3. Hey guys. New to the sport and even newer to the forum but I'm in the same boat. My shooting is decent but it takes me forever to get from one spot to another. I'm thinking of buying some wood for fault lines and setting them every five yards or so and doing some suicide type drills to help me learn to accelerate and more importantly stop. Any thoughts?

  4. I sure appreciate your suggestion but I'm not so much asking which barrel and comp to use but what's the option with the lowest amount of dot movement? But in the sake of curiosity what do you charge for a barrel with that cut? And yeah I'd love to shoot factory so I didn't have to pick up brass but I want what works best so I'm just trying to get my options straight. Thanks again guys

  5. Hey guys. Got a question based off reading and knowing enough to just get myself in trouble. From everything I'm reading the guns with comps shoot softer with loads that put more gas through them because the comp has more to do. Now that begs the question does a comped gun shoot softer with major power anmo than it would with minor? I'm looking at a new barrel for steel challenge gun and I don't know if the factory ammo through the shorter comp, or the heavier major power ammo through the longer comp would kick less. So people with more experience on this please help! Thanks in advance!

  7. I say he was a pro. He said that his usual game is 3 gun shooting for Daniel defense he was just doin this match for fun. But it was Jimmie Oliver the guy who placed second. And yeah I agree with everything you said about feeling fast and moving slow. I didn't think I was burning down the track by any means but my god I was just walking along slow as you please. I've been spray painting shooting boxes out on the range and drawing and shooting two then going to the next box and shooting two and it's getting me more comfortable with leaving the position and stopping in the second one. Every little bit helps!

  8. Should be easy. If there's anything I'm good at, it's missing fast! And I've been watching the videos my fiancée took and my largest time eater was moving between shooting positions so that's what I'm workin on now. Thanks again for the explanations!

  9. Hey thanks for the answers everyone! Like I said I knew there was a reason for it i just didn't know what it was. Also I wasn't sure about posting scoreboards and any ettiquette involved in asking you guys to pick apart the match of someone else just for my curiosity or I would have posted it so I apologize about that. And my thinking was that I didn't realize 5 seconds made that big of a difference but hey I'll get quicker in time!

  10. Alright guys Ive got the scoring question I'm sure has been asked but I didn't feel like threading through the 1,197 threads that popped up for the answer. I'm very new at this and I I was just wondering where hits vs time lies in a score. I ask because I was looking at the scoreboard from my first match and I was one of two open shooters. Over the course of the match he was 5.53 seconds faster than I was. I shot 116 As 2 Bs and 2 Cs. He shot 86 As 6 Bs 23 Cs 4 Ds 1 miss and 1 no shoot. Now im not griping that he beat me cause I had a hell of a lot of fun but I just as yet don't know where the scoring system is at in regards to speed vs hits. Can you guys that are good at speaking in laymans terms help me out? Thanks in advance!

  11. Thanks everyone! So far I'm liking uspsa and steel challenge. Each has its ups and downs from what I can tell and I still have a lot of learning to do so we'll see. And right now I'm shooting open with a Performance Center ported M&P Core but I think I like the idea of limited best! I'm sorta saving and shopping for an STI cause I've always wanted one and that's part of how I wound up on this forum so thanks in advance for the help!

  12. Yes I am a handloader but between time and finicky press issues I want the ability to run factory ammo. If it makes any difference I'm going to go the 40 SW route if and when I pull the trigger. Seems like I oughta get a good polymer gun set up for limited to use while I work out the kinks in a new 2011. Last thing I want is to have one gun and it isn't cooperating

  13. Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. My understanding is once they run they're fantastic I just didn't want one that was hard to get there. I've still got a lot of learning and time before I can take advantage of one of them I just hate to keep practicing with something different when I know I'm going to change eventually. But if they run like y'all say then I should be good!

  14. Hey everyone. Lifelong shooter that's new to the sport here. I searched and didnt find what I was looking for so if you have a thread for me please put a link in your answer. I've been wanting to shoot competitively for a while and I recently shot my first match. My hands are still

shaking and I can still here the blood pumping through my ears! Safe to say I'm hooked. I think Limited is the division for me for several reasons but I need a new gun for that one. I have wanted an STI for years and this is a perfect excuse. My question is once it's broken in how many of the guns are finicky to a fault? I don't mind an occasional hiccup, that's just guns. But I don't want a 2,800 dollar project gun. So those who have experience with DVC limited please let me know how they run. Thanks in advance!

  15. Hey everybody! Long time handgun shooter but brand new competitor here. Just about every time I search a topic I wind up on this site so I figured id get myself to where I could ask questions of my own. Thanks in advance for everything!
