  1. I hand prime all my cases and they feel fine so I’m thinking it’s the length. And as far as the striker spring it sets off factory ammo just fine so again I think that part is ok.
  2. They’re loaded long so that may be it. I’ll go seat em a little deeper and try em again tomorrow. As far as them going off the second time I just chucked the slide and kept shootin. Still did fine so I’m not too too worried about it just tryin to tighten up my weak spots.
  3. So I shot steel Challenge this morning. Had tons of light strikes on my hand loads. Now I know that the CCI primers are harder but it’s an M&P with a factory striker spring and it was failing to set off probly 20 rounds during the match. Any idea what I did wrong to cause this?
  4. Works for me. I’ll just be a tad more careful
  5. I don’t think they’re crimped cause most of this is Remington brass that I shot as new ammo. But it’s very possible I’m leaving my case out of whack in my shell holder. And I’d say probly 5 pins broken and two bent rods in the last 2000 pieces. Maybe less I’m not sure. It just seems like the pin has to be extended so far to actually punch the primer that it becomes unstable if that makes sense. But I also pretty much taught myself to reload just by reading so I’m sure there’s a fundamental I’m getting wrong somewhere.
  6. I’ve been decapping a bunch of 9mm recently and I’ve not only snapped an above average amount of actual pins but somehow the decapping rod is bending also. This is with current production gray box Rcbs carbide dies. Anyone else experiencing this? Or am I doin somethin wrong along the road. Thanks in advance

    Double action kit

I really appreciate all the help everybody! I eyeballed the production legal kit but I think it boils down to the fact that it feels a little too weird for me to want to sink all the money into it that I’d need to to compete so I’m probly gonna let this one go down the road. Again I’m sorry I asked and wasted yalls tome but I appreciate it!

    Double action kit

Hey everyone. I came into a 75b for pretty cheap today so I picked it up and I’m gonna give production a try. The gun is bone stock though so I of course want to make the double action pull a little easier. From my research the Cajun gunworks stuff was the overwhelming answer but I can’t get a bead on what kit exactly that I’m looking for. Anyone have a product number for a Kit to reduce the double action pull weight? Or what springs I need? Thanks in advance
  9. Yeah I’ve got a case gauge ready to order when I fill up my cart. As to formula for detsrmining crimp I really appreciate that and all the other information as well. When I replace dies and get back loading I’ll definitly use that method for set up. Thanks very much everyone!
  10. Don’t ya love it when you leave out the most key piece of information? I’m using hodgdon universal.
  11. I have an rcbs manual powder thrower that I’m trying to use for 9mm and every throw is off by as much as .5 grains and I was wondering is this the design or the powder I’m using or any ideas on how I can get it down to about .2 cause I figure I’m not any better than that variation. Thanks in advance everyone
  12. Yeah I typically use carbides for everything pistol and they’ve worked great I just assumed that something made by rcbs would at least work but back to carbide it is. And yes I really do need a case gauge for match ammo. Thanks for all the help guys!
  13. I use an Rcbs turret press to decap/size and bell my brass then it goes into a bucket. When the whole batch is ready I hand prime it with an rcbs universal hand primer. Then I use a charge master 1500 to throw my charge and I seat the bullet in my rcbs rock chucker single stage. The dies are old rcbs dies I don’t have a box for but I’m pretty sure they’re aluminum cause they’re very light and they aren’t magnetic. My carbide dies went missing somewhere along the line with a bunch of moves and this is the only batch I’ve loaded with em. I got through a match today with probly a minute worth of malfunctions so I won’t be using the dies any more to say the least
  14. The out of spec die idea also rings a bell. It’s my backup set of acp dies that we’re given to me by my uncle and they’re aluminum? I haven’t ever read about that but they’re definitely lighter than steel nd not magnetic either. Anyone have any idea about that?
  15. Who knows maybe I didn’t size this batch enough. Preciate the response sir!
  16. Alright guys relatively new reloaded here. I’m loading 45 acp for use in single stack uspsa and steel challenge. It’s a Berry’s 230 grain plated bullet which I’m done with no matter what my responses are. I chamber check all my rounds and a lot of em are coming out dangerously low in the case. The coal I’ve been using is 1.25 I believe from Hodgdon. I shot some of these today and they cycled fine and weren’t over pressure but is it possible that they’re too short and the ogive of the bullet is below the case mouth causing it to not get enough bite on the bullet? Any help is appreciated

    38 tj

Pretty hard to argue with. Especially for a steel challenge gun.

    38 tj

Awesome thanks. I Suppose I’ll just stick with plain ole 9mm

    38 tj

Is there a noticeable increase in case life over the supercomp? And I also read somewhere that it can be formed from 223 brass. Is that true in anyway?

    38 tj

Hey everyone. Can anybody here educate me on the 38 tj? I like oddball cartridges and I can’t find anything except that Hornady sells brass and it’s like the 38sc but I’m wondering what the parent case is what the performance might be like and why you’d pick it over supercomp. Stuff like that. Thanks guys!
  21. I apologize I lost sight of what thread I was in and didn't intend to treat this one like classifieds. Have a good day.
  22. For 100 I'd rather just hold onto em. Thanks for the interest guys! And grunpyone. Words!!
  23. Thanks guys I tried gunbroker and didn't find much when I searched but I'll give it another shot. And I apologize grumpyone but I'm not too familiar with the emojis so I'm not sure what that face is. Thanks!!
  24. Yes they are single stack. And they're used which is why im not basing they're value off of retail for a new frame.
