Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I run out of Vihtavuori N350 for my 38 super, can I use N340 instead or will it be too fast. Has anybody got any suitable loads for N340 to make 160pf with 124g bullet? Or should I go the other direction and use N105 rifle powder? Your experiences appreciated. lr
  2. Many thanks, that worked a treat. lr
  3. Hi I have a red tanfoglio gun case with a combination lock. I did not receive any instructions with it. Does anyone know how to set the combination so that I can use it? There is no "set switch" on the back of it like some locks. Thanks lr
  4. Brian, Thanks for the info, much appreciated. lr
  5. I had this over on Stock Forum but no success so I'll try here, if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Hi I want to get some Safariland 773 mag pouches to fit CZ IPSC Standard 40 cal 16 round mags. Safariland don't list any that fits. Does anyone know which ones fit ? Is the 773 with the closed front better than the 771 open front ? Your thoughts appreciated. Thanks lr

  7. I was keen to try a set of Redding dies, but the 3 dies set has; sizer, expander, seat / crimp die. With the Dillon 550 I don't need the expander die, I want to seat and crimp on separate stages which means buying the dies individually. The Redding 3 die titanium pro series set does not have the expander die, but has a separate set and crimp. Problem is they are expensive, anyone any experience of them ? Thanks lr
  8. I use a Dillon 550 to load 40S&W with the lee 4 die carbide set. I seat and crimp on separate stages, FCD is in the final stage. I'm looking for 45 acp and 38 super dies, again want to seat and crimp on separate stages. Is there anything better than Lee carbide dies ? Is 38 Super taper or roll crimp ? Thanks lr
  9. I have a Lyman 40 S&W gauge and was perfectly happy with it, never had a problem with feeding failures. Bought an EGW IPSC gauge (9mm, 38 SA, 40S&W, 45ACP) and it is tighter than the lyman. lr
  10. Guys can someone tell me what type of battery does a C More use ? Thanks lr
  11. Yes it has, I took and cleaned around it. Fitted a brand new Wolff type 2 main spring, just in case the other was damaged. Tested it at the range today. First 12 rounds, El Presidente warm up, no problems Then a 24 round stage, had 3 light strikes. Next 5 stages was ok. Not entirely happy yet as it needs to be 100% reliable. If it fails again I think, the best thing is so get and exteneded strain spring. Any idea where ? Thanks lr
  12. I don't know about the availability of 170mm mags in the USA, but they are available in europe. Tanfoglio themselves sell them and Bawo has them. Your friendly dealer should be able to order them direct. Arredondo & SPS have followers and springs to extend std 38 super mags to 20 rounds and Eric Gruffel can get 29 rounds in 170mm mags. Can S_I manage more ? Personally I like them for the smaller grip, as a 2011 is just too big for me. lr
  13. The 686 is now about 4 years old, The strain screw appears to be an original "full length" one. The primers with light strikes are dead centre with a small indent in the primer. The ignited rounds are nice centre strikes significantly deeper than the light ones. The thing that is bugging me is how can most of the strikes be fine with just the odd one light ? lr
  14. I bought the revolver new and it was never modified until putting the springs in. Strain screw is original. Does it make much difference, where the position of the bend is in the spring ? (i.e. top end /centre / bottom end) Thanks lr
