  1. When a major match charges a $150 entry fee and has 200 Shooters, there should be plenty of "Extra Money" to hire people to setup stages. The whole argument of there not being enough volunteer help when the match income is $30K+ really does not hold much weight.

Even if the stage setup process was performed using 100% volunteer resources, if the MD didn't wrangle up a sufficient amount of help well before the "Bust your ass" setup days that is all their fault.

Big Panda, please point me in the direction of the magic money printing machine? I'll gladly take the $$ I have to spend on the prize table hire you to build the stages. Might as well pay myself as well. I get $65.00 an hour for my time, how about you? I estimate the build to take 30 man hours, not including gas and water. how much do you need?

All this bitching about "value" for a volunteer driven sport is pushing me out of the sport. If I ever run another match, its going to be for profit! You can pay my match fee or shoot elsewhere. Be just like Florida Open.

  2. if anyone needs PROMO powder by Alliant? I got 60# I need to get rid of. great for loading 40 major burn rate is tad bit faster than tightgroup. I'm in the Dallas area, will not ship though. buy it all for $13.00 a pound cash. PM if interersted.

  3. May I be so bold as to ask you what Dish charges you? We are in a never ending battle with Cox Cable over our subscription. They raise our fee, my wife called and threatened to quit. They knocked off $50 for several months then raised us $11. She called and threatened to quit again. They knocked off $20 for six months. It drives us crazy.

I go through the same with AT&T, even with a contract. they change the price as they see fit.

  4. I don't know what distance you drive or don't drive here in the DFW area, but there are 2 USPSA matches a month.

DAPS has one on the 2nd saturday at ETTS and there is one on the 3rd sunday at Cresson hosted by Cross Timbers.

  5. Self squad on uspsa still shows plenty of spots for sat/sun....or are the non-squaded shooters already guaranteed sat/sun even though they haven't picked a squad?

non- squadded folks who already paid need to get squadded. I'm sure some folks will drop out, when some spots free up, I'll go to the waitlist and send notices. Plenty of room left on Friday! for now anyway, down to 18 spots remaining.
