The problem with March is that their warranty is only good for 5 years and there isn’t a consistent person to send it to for repair. They have had at least 3 US distributors. They used to say that their warranty was 5 years due to law but they would cover anything. When the illumination went they wouldn’t even talk to me without the receipt showing the date.
I like the spf March 1-10 but the company leaves a lot to be desired. Especially compared to Vortex. Thanks for the info, that is especially important to me if I am going to drop 2k on an optic. You would think that they would get with the times and offer lifetime warranties like the majority of optics companies do.

March is also releasing their F1 1-10X FFP Shorty. ClintMorris, if you are going to SHOT can you check this out and let us know what you think of it? Thanks!
Oh really? I didn’t know that. I’ve recently talked with a friend who was sof and had experience with their 1-10 and said the edge to edge clarity was lacking and had much to be desired. I personally have never looked through one but will try to get by their booth and check them out.
I did look at the new trijicon credo hx 1-8 last weekend and it seemed very nice. Good glass, red and green illumination, exposed locking turrets. And they were only selling for like 1199 at the show I believe

This must be what the Trijicon offering they are "teasing" is going to be also.
I'm definitely intrigued as Vortex is solid!I saw that they teased something for the 8th. Are you thinking it’ll be a 1-10 as well?
and yes if vortex can make the 1-8 and 1-10 eyebox issues go away then they’ll really be onto something. I think the 1-6 is the sweet spot for now.

Just bought my stock master from Joanna for $1,095.
Seems like a good deal. Please report back on it after a range trip!

I like the look of that Limited Master. I'm curious about what price points they both come in at.
They had the stock master at $1450 and limited master at $1550 but had a note to call for a better price. Also includes a bolo and reamed chamber free with purchase.

Anyone see the email PD sent out with the new Defiant Stock Master & Limited Master? Looks sexy and like a “gamer gun”. Lightened slide and bull barrel for production, yes please. I always wanted to hard chrome my stock 3 and it looks like they’re coming that way without the hassle of sending it off.
what’s everyone’s thoughts on it?

One more question; is the guiderod for the 5" M&P any different from the one in the 4.25" gun? I have a 5" M&P9 2.0 and when I bought a spare factory recoil spring/guide rod the part number was the same for both lengths.
That is correct, they both have the same length factory captured guide rods. With the guide rods from SSS the 5” ones extend further into the slide over a factory guide rod

Hate to hear that, did you not have the insurance? I’ve dealt with lost mail with usps and it’s always a pain and takes a while to get refunded.

I shoot .40 minor in a Limited Pro and a Stock II. A good polish job goes a long way towards a good trigger, and I agree with what everyone says about leaving the stock disco in vs the BOLO since I also don't ride the reset. On both models I have the Henning cone-fit guiderod (which is a must in my opinion), the PD firing pin spring and the PD 15.5 hammer spring. Everything else internal is pretty much stock.
Play with the recoil spring to see what works best for you. On the Stock II the Wolff 8lb longslide spring works great for major loads and the 6lb one is great for minor loads. If you want your slide to reliably auto-forward on a slide-lock reload, I would go with a 7lb longslide spring for .40 minor. For the Limited Pro and the Stock III the 10lb longslide spring works well for .40 major and the 8lb or 9lb works for .40 minor.
I was going to tag you in this Josh but you beat me to it!
Listen to what he’s saying if your thinking about 40 minor, his guns run flawlessly and shoot soft

The Stock 1 is a Stock 2, with longer slide and barrel, extra meat on the frame in the form of finger grooves, and a pictinny rail.
Remember the order of introduction went:
Stock (which many incorrectly call a “stock 1”)
Stock 2
Stock 3
Stock 1 (the actual)
The stock 1 is idpa legal and weighs in just under 43oz

Talk to Robert at Red Hill Tactical, he seems to have a ton of molds for different guns. If he has anything use code “Nevermiss” and save some money while you’re at it. They have done all of my holsters and I’ve been extremely happy with them.
Thanks, I had spoke to him about 6 months ago about making one and he said that I’d have to send him my slide. I’ve kind of procrastinated and deer season is coming up soon and don’t want to be without it. I was looking to see if there was something readily available to get me by for now
-
Does anyone know where I could find a kydex holster for a 10mm hunter? I’d like to find one that covers the whole slide if possible. If not I’m thinking I might have to get a limited holster and cut off the end for the rest of the slide to hang out.

That thing is sexy! Nice shooting

I've seen a lot of Calvin Elites at our club matches each month. I run one and at least 3 other people in my squad last week at black rifle match had them. I haven't seen any light strikes.
Thanks for the info, I’ll have to give one a try on my next build

Welcome!
Lots of USPSA going on in DFW. Also if your into 3 gun check out North Texas Multigun and Triple C Range

I have a few of the 3.5s and recently bought a 2.5 to try out, and I’ve had it not reset a few times as well. Glad I’m not the only one having that issue, I need to send it in for repairs

I was looking for a new trigger and went with the hiperfire competition and really like it. It was between that and the Calvin Elite but was hesitant on getting light strikes, are any of y’all running the CE having any trouble with light strikes?

I am using Frank Proctors aftermarket guide rod and springs on my M&P 2.0 Compacts
How do you like it? That looks like a good option. I don’t see any spring weights listed. Do you happen to know what it is?

I thought about the all steel compact, or maybe even the pavona. However, the barrell length is 3.5 inches as opposed to the 4.1 of a glock 19 or M&P 2.0 compact. That is a big enough difference to not consider them for CCP.

I was thinking of picking one up as well but opted for the M&P 2.0 compact. I used to shoot M&P before I switched to Tanfo so it wasn’t a hard decision to make.

I have 2 Lim pros and love them! Also had a stock 3 and it was nose heavy for me as well so I sold it off. I really don’t think you can go wrong with a Stock 2 or Lim Pro myself.
