Why not purchased a spare tool head for the 650 for 223/556? I also have a tool head with sizing die and the RT1500  Dillon trimmerand can process 600 pcs of brass an hour. I wet tumble too. Love the consistency with the Dillon RT1500

Because I have a case feeder and mr bullet.

But that seems much more affordable. So can you give me tips on how to change everything over.  I already load small rifle primers so that is fine. I can easily get a new powder drop and micrometer bar for it. What about prepping the brass.

Don't "need" a 550, you can more easily do 223 on your 650. Get a couple of heads (one to process brass, one to load), a Dillon trimmer, super swager and dies and go...

Ok this sounds interesting. But what about my case feeder and mr bullet. Also what pre prep would the case need

  3. Recommendations on tools needed with 550 to properly prepare brass. Powder bullets. Treet me like a noob but be nice please. I load 9 major on a 650 with case feeder and Mr bullet. I consider myself more than proficient with that. But with rifle for competition/range no experience

You could find a spent case that fits into your chamber, but will still hold a bullet fairly tightly and push it into your barrel until the case is fully seated and then measure that OAL as your absolute max and subtract .020" for a starting point.   A sized case cut down one side will also work.

Damn that is a good idea. Will be trying that as soon as my goodies from RMR get here

Just be aware that you’ll be running really high pressures to hit defensive velocities with titegroup; think +P or +P+

A pound of green dot is cheap, easy to find, and anything in that slower region of the burn rate chart (power pistol also comes to mind) is going to hit velocities approaching 1,200 fps and higher without going past 33,000 psi or so.

If low flash is important, do some research into which ones are suitable with that regard too.

I have CFE pistol, HS6, and some 3n38.

I loaded them over 5.9gr of BE-86, but I had to load them crazy short at like 1.065" to get them to chamber in my CZ P09.  I shot them into water and they expanded well.

My new favorite powder for carry loads is N350.  I load 5.1gr under a 147gr HST.  6.0gr would be a good load for a 124.

This video compares the flash of the 5.9gr BE-86 and RMR 124 JHP load to the 5.1gr N350 and 147 HST.

I will probably load with Tite group simply for the fact I have over 10 pounds of it and shoot it all the time

  7. What do y'all think of these bullets. In talking with the guys at Rocky mountain you need 1100fps for expansion. My comp likes 124's at 173-180pf.

I'm still using CFE pistol for major loads. 6.8 grns right now on a BBI 125 GRN.

Tite group 3.8 grns for everything else.

Seen a few say the need to be seated a little deeper.

    Any help would be great.

The MG, RMR and PD 124 gr JHP's are all good,

but the MG's are more expensive.

The PD's are good and inexpensive (relatively) but only the

RMR's are supposed to double as target and self defense

    loads.

    For my money it's 1.  RMR  2.  PD, and 3. MG.     :)

I like the idea of the RPR being dual use. I carry Speer gold dot 124 in my main carry magazines. But it would be nice to have all my extra mags loaded as well. How do they perform

  9. In the pics you will see the gas burn on the lens of my rts2. The guys at STI are sending me a different mount to try but have both said it's crazy that the gasses are coming that far back and to the right. Don't bash me but honestly have y'all seen gas on a shorty come that far back and only to the right side. The front of the mount is a good half inch behind the last popple hole.   What am I missing?rps20180905_143206_710.thumb.jpg.554cea697168d63aceb695f92740fcdb.jpg

For anyone that has been running one a while a couple questions.

Does it hold a setting over thousands of rounds? (IE not move on its own)

Would you prefer it over separate powder bars/measures for each caliber/load you use? Why or why not?

Would you spend the money again?

I mainly load 1 pistol load but have to occasionally change the powder charge for other calibers/loads and its annoying I am either going to order a couple more small bars or the micrometer and having a hard time deciding which one is a better option as the cost is a wash micrometer is ~$80 and 3 small bars are ~75

I have used one for loading 9mm for years. Not only have I loaded 4000 rounds in a weekend without it changing. When I find my load for a certain powder I print a small labe and stick it to the side of the powder hopper. That number is usually perfect once found again and again. Best purchase for stage 2 on my 650 to date

Shooting for 1.1550 I was getting 1.1510 to 1.1690 at the extreme. Most falling in the 1.1540 to 1.1620 range.I see some guys commenting they get.002 consistency. I'd be thrilled. in my Atlas I have alot of chamber length to work with so it's not that big of a deal except for my OCD and desire for consistency. In my Acc-Shadow 2, the chamber is so dang short, that to make sure I could chamber, I just didn't load many 147s because it would get so dang short and .300 or deeper into the case one some of the rounds. I ended up shooting mostly Blues TC 135s because the profile was forgiving in my short chambered CZ. But now with the Atlas I'm getting to experiment with a bunch of different profiled 147s. Just ordered a batch of ACME 147 RNs and 145 FPs to try them out.

I want an atlas chaos so bad, but I don't have 6k to throw down right now, and my matchmaster is 1500 rounds in since last cleaning and I have had ZERO failures whatsoever.  2lb trigger pull and runs perfectly everytime.  It is my Baby
