  1. Shot my 9mm TSO for the first time today and it's an absolute tack driver, I've never shot a gun this accurate and the trigger is a dream.  Only hiccup was one live round got jammed in the gun.  I fired a shot and the empty ejected but the gun did not go fully back into battery and was locked up.  I had to grab the slide and smack the back of the grip pretty hard to dislodge the round.  I then reloaded the round back in the mag and loaded it and the gun still didn't quite go into battery so I smacked the back of the slide and it went into battery.  I was able to fire the round then ran fine for the rest of the rounds.

Long story short, could it be a round out of tolerance on OAL that the gun didn't like?  Was shooting 115 winchester white box factory ammo only.  Other 99 rounds were flawless.

By the way my buffer in the recoil assembly didn't have any wear or visible damage at all after 100 rounds.

Cos, I have both.  Both are equivalent guns, but the TS is less expensive.  The TS will run right out of the box, and the mags need no tuning.  A 2011, depending on what you buy, may need a few adjustments and the mags probably will need tuning.

With good loads, both guns put rounds in the same hole at 15 yards.  That's bullseye accurate, and more than you need for action matches and games.

The bore sits lower on the TS, so the muzzle rises a little less when fired.  I'm definitely faster on the second shot with the TS.

The ergonomics of the TS are a little better for me, because I have smallish hands.  I did a grip reduction on it and deepened the beaver tail and undercut the trigger guard.  The gun fits like a glove.  The STI 2011 grip is larger and feels so.  That being said, I've adjusted to the larger 2011 grip and now have no problem going back and forth.  I like both guns, shot them both, and would not give either up.

Aside from saying try them out for yourself, the only other advice I can give is this.  $1500 buys you a TS with four mags, extended base pads and a FO front sight.  That's ready to run for USPSA Limited.  A 2011 equipped the same will run you between $2300 and $2500.  If you like to tinker, or may change the gun into something else in the future, you have many, many more options with a 2011.

Thanks for the input and confirming that I'm most likely going to go the TSO route.  Where did you find your TS for $1500?  Seems like they are fairly hard to find in stock and especially at that price.

I fondled one today at Defender outdoors.   It had 3 mags, manual, some small bits, and a CD.

$1784 is what they were asking btw.   Seems supply is drying up and the price is coming up also.

Contacted one of the people on GB and they have them for $1699/shipped

I missed the boat on the Shadow Orange   so I figure just throw that money this way.

Hrmm their website says out of stock but I may have to swing by there and take a look if they have one on hand.

I held a TS Orange 9mm at my local gun store last sunday and knew I had to have one ( in .40 ) . Thanks to Stuart for jumping in this thread , purchased a TS Orange .40 and should be arriving tomorrow.

Mind sharing the name of your LGS?  I may call and see if they still have the 9mm one there by chance.  What did you pay for the .40?

I own both, and I vote the AccuShadow.

If you're shooting competitivly, the TSO is amazing... But it's big, heavy, and kind of a one trick pony.  It won't even fit in a normal holster.  It's a specialized gun for a specialized role.

The AccuShadow(or otherwise hot-rodded  SP01) would just be easier to live with on a day to day basis.

Thanks for the feedback.  On one hand most my guns are pretty normal duty/carry guns so if I spend 1500+ bucks I kind of want it to be "special"

  6. Thanks guys, I do prefer a SAO trigger.  Was originally thinking about getting a STI 1911/2011 9MM but had the chance to check out a CZ TS (non orange) in a local store and was blown away by the trigger, weight and balance.  I did not like the wood grips or sights so I think the TSO might be a great gun for me but I've read some great things about how accurate the accu shadow is.

For the SP01 does it go, base SP01, Shadow Target, then Accu Shadow from "worst" to best?

  7. This probably isn't the smartest idea but I don't want to buy a gun based on any classing as it's unlikely I'll be doing competition shooting in the near future and I really do not like .40 S&W.  Am I correct in saying the TSO is in a higher class (limited) out of the box but the Accu Shadow can still shoot in production?  I know very little about classing for USPSA, IDPA, IPSC etc.

  8. I don't currently do any competition shooting but may consider it in the future.  For now I'm looking for a super accurate fun 9mm range toy.  Which gun would you guys say is more accurate between the SP01 AccuShadow and Tactical Sport Orange?

I'd love to hear about any general pros and cons for each gun as well.

  9. Grabagun had one in stock, I got an email.  I'm local to them so I thought I'd see if I could handle it before I bought.  First of all these clowns don't answer their phone ever.  I wasted an hour driving in traffic to go to their retail location.  When I got there I was told they keep guns in the warehouse and would not pull one out to let me check it out/buy it.  The worker told me to "go to a big box" store to check it out.  Screw these guys.

So I'm still looking for one in 9.

Handled a TS orange in 9mm today, instantly fell in love. Grip geometry fit my much better than a standard TS

Mind sharing where it is and how much if you're not going to buy it?  I'm looking for one in 9mm.
