Are you shooting a Red Dot or Open sights??
When I shoot (and was taught) to shoot both it was both eyes open. This is definitely harder and takes more practice and a tad more brain power until it's second nature. A red dot is 100% both eyes for me and open sights are probably 80% both eyes depending on the distance and size of the tgt. Keep at it and it will come more natural.

+1 for G34. And if you find a different gun down the road a G34 would be easy to sell or have as a good Alternate for a match.

I'm partial to STI as a brand, but 9mm hands down (more capacity and less felt recoil). It's a little cheaper as well, but if you have a .40 I wouldn't "not" shoot it just because it's a .40. Shoot it if ya got it.

New Boom Sticks (maybe twigs):
STI Edge 9mm
STI DVC Open 9mm
Love them both. Fun to shoot.

Greetings... I've been shooting my whole life off and on but recently have started getting pretty serious. I've purchased a few higher end pistols for hopes of USPSA comps, as well as 3-gun. I am an absolute beginner at reloading but taking a stab at that too. Hope to learn a lot on here and maybe pick up or trade for some new Boom sticks.... HTTR.

Anywhere from 5-40yd for practice. And I would opt for farther during practice so when presented with the close shots they are softballs.
