  1. Hey gang, Can the Miculek brake be used and timed up with a CRUSH WASHER instead of the lock nut that comes with it? A pic or two would be great if anyone has indeed done this!
  2. Gunners, Gamers, Guys, & Gals! As most of you hopefully know December 10th will be Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club's IDPA classifier match. Also for anyone who’d like to stick around after the classifier, we’ll be holding a Back Up Gun (BUG) match! It’ll consist of six “stages” with strings of fire no more than five rounds each…50 rounds should get you through without problem. I’ve included the criteria for BUG guns: A. Be single or double action B. Be either pistol or revolver C. Be .32 Auto or larger caliber D. Have a barrel length of: 1. Semi-auto…3.8” or less 2. Revolver…3” or less E. Max rounds loaded is five (5) No holsters will be needed…all stages will start from “low ready” or a table or the like, and no reloads will be performed on the clock. Also if you do not have a firearm that fits the BUG criteria, and would like to shoot this side match, simply bring some “quality” 9mm ammo and you’ll be welcome to use my GLOCK 26! Well be using Bays 1 & 2 for the BUG match so we can shoot later than 2:00pm if needed. Anyone that would like to contribute a stage or has any ideas that might be exciting, please get in touch! 3. ATTENTION IDPA SHOOTERS!!! Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club's monthly IDPA match to be held on November 12th will be our annual T-Shirt Match! All targets will be covered with T-Shirts to obscure the scoring zones! Participation in stage design and set-up would be greatly appreciated, and encouraged...set-up and you shoot FREE! 4. I heard they were a pain to tune right, but I didn't know that they broke pretty regularly...you'd think someone would come up with a fix for that. If it is going to be prone to breakage, then I just may stick with what came on the CM...I'll invest in some dummy/snap caps and practice till my fingers bleed! Also I heard of guys using a 7 round spring in the mag tube instead of an 8 rounder to make loading easier...worth it or not?
  5. From what everyone says, there's no way to be competitive without one? Maybe that's all bunk, and I should just practice loading the CM more?
  6. I'm looking to add an EZ Loader to my Rem 1100CM, and will likely send it off to Mr. Hill for the job, but was curious if anyone had a scan they could post of the actual installation procedure? A link would even be great of a step-by-step!
  7. Hey gang, I keep hearing mixed reviews on the Promag AK-47 30rd magazines...what your thoughts? Anyone here have any, tried any, like or dislike? I was planning on using them in my Norinco MAK-90, and can order them through my work for $11.34 each.
  8. I'm in the S&W 686 camp, but I will attest to the quality of the Ready Tactical gear...I would recommend their revolver holster for sure, and their speedloader pouches are absolutely genius. I use the Safariland Comp III's with total satisfaction.
  9. Also try Woolrich Elite...they make a great "Tactical" line now.
  10. Thanks! A lot of our shooters have loved the Pit Bulls...were doing a BUG match in June, and we are having a mugger with two pits...on signal tip over trash cans to block dogs, then on retreat 2 shots to mugger, then one on each dog! We have had camping scenerios where you started in a tent and we did the targets as wild boars!
  11. For a twist a our local matches...instead of just hands on non-threats, we designate all of our targets. A lot of new shooters and guests to our club seem to really like it...makes them slow down a little and think about what they are shooting. These would never fly at a sanctioned match, but they're fun for us at the club level!
  12. I cancelled the order for the Pigtail...thanks for the info guys! I see people talking about the PRI Fatboy tube...any thoughts? PRI also states to use with standard buffers...how do you think it would react with an Enidine buffer?
  13. Was thinking of trying a pigtail gas tube in my M4. I wanted to run one in conjunction with my Enidine buffer, but heard now that they (m16 Clinic...maker of the tube) do not suggest using with a hydralic buffer. Will I see short strokes if I use the two together, or other possible problems?
  14. I'm going to goof around on Monday and try running two barrel seal rings, and see how it functions with some Win #7 1/2 2 3/4dram loads...I wonder how fast it will eat up the extra ring?
  15. Mr. Hill, What would you suggest? Drilling ports or just stick to my 2 3/4" 3dram 1 1/8oz loads?
  16. Was wondering if anyone has ever tried one of these for 3-gun use. I hear of people drilling out their ports for light loads, and I wonder if this would work equally well? It comes with a lighter action spring specifically for light target loads. SRM Performance
  17. Saw this on eBay, thought it was kinda of cool if your a collector of such stuff... By the way...it is not my auction (you'll notice we're both from Melbourne). I've bought from her before, both online and at local gunshows...she usually has some good stuff.
  18. Ditto to Bruce? And are you using a rifle or carbine sized buffer? Any possible sketch or drawing of how yours looks inside?
  19. Just spoke with Bill Shurmatz directly at Enidine! Very very friendly and helpful gentleman. We're going to try a few different things (i.e. some newer fresher ammos, the shorter spring I found, etc.) and see what happens!?!? Bottom line...Bill said they would do whatever necessary to make things right, even if it means refunding my $$$...can't beat that for service!
  20. Shot my M4 today with the Enidine installed, and the rifle short stroked on every single shot! It was like shooting a bolt action rifle for Christ's sake! Checked my gas rings and they were okay...was shooting pretty old Win white box stuff, so who knows? I should've brought my standard buffer with me but forgot.
  21. Mr. Wakal, Thank you! I think I will be ordering one soon! I appreciate the pics tremendously.
  22. Mr. Wakal, Should I expect any problems/issues attaching one of your interesting brakes to my standard M4 type barrel? Will a crush washer suffice, or should I time it with peels? Anyone have some pics of one...perhaps attached to an M4?
  23. Just as the title states, I was curious as to what comps/brakes you guys are using for Tactical division. I'm building up a rifle and trying to figure out which way to go...was considering a Benny Cooley or Miculek!? Trying to take as much recoil/movement out of the rifle as possible...have a Enidine AR-restor in route to try also.
