I bounce back and forth between these two:
Howard Leight Impact Sports - Awesome sound quality
Walker Razor - Very comfortable, but audio sounds "far away" -
Tools, cleaning supplies, spare batteries (optics and muffs), disposable rain poncho, disposable shower cap (improvised gun cover), large trash bag, small pack of kleenex, small first aid kit, sunblock, and chapstick.

I use testors model paint. Doing a couple coils in the middle seems to last longer than painting and end portion.

The Worst Error shooting OPEN, is to assume (ass u me) that since
you have a comp, and an optical sight, and very high velocity ammo,
and everyone else shooting OPEN is going really FFFAAASSSSTTTTTTT,
that you don't actually have to see the dot on the A zone each and every
time, as long as you shoot Really Fast.
Don't ask how I know ...
First match shooting open I did this exactly. I had a GM go before me, so when it was my time I hosed the first array, and had plenty of Mikes. Luckily, I was smart enough to adjust my speed for the rest of the stage, and match.

I've seen too many people try to stow mags blindly. Look them in, just like when putting it in the pistol.

Hold down the shell release lever and cycle the bolt repeatedly until empty - faster than futzing with the shell latch one shell at a time.
Yeah, but then the wife yells at you for making a ton of noise while she's tryong to watch tv.

Tuned my VEPR 12 mags up so they insert easily, and drop free on an open bolt. Then worked on mag changes with the shotgun, followed by handgun transitions.

I'm trying to decide what trigger to run in my Vepr 12. I got my eye on the AKT UL from ALG, but also noticed CMC makes a drop in AK unit. Anyone got any input? Its the last piece to the puzzle, and then my gun is done.

I've had enough mag related issues with the 2011 platform to warrant always double checking that one is chambered. There have been a couple of occasions when the chamber was empty when I checked. Better to find out at the LAMR, then when on the clock.

I work at an indoor range, so I'll make a stop over before they open on the morning of the match and warm up on draws and transitions down range. Once I get to the match, its draws, trigger press, and empty reloads at the safe table.

So far this year I average 65.8% Alphas. I need to pick the speed up a bit...

i think the reason we turn it sideways (better able to pick up the dot when it's lower where the "normal" open sights would be) is why a blast shield won't work, too low to the barrel. i pretty much clean mine after every stage or two with the walmart/costco 100 pack of lens cleaners. PITA but better than the alternative of doubling stage time looking for that damn dot.
That happened to me today on a 30 round stage. By the time I got to the last few targets, I though my battery was dying, and realized the lense was just filthy. -
I got a c-more mounted at 90 degrees, and the lense gets dirty after a few shots due to the popple holes. Anyone know of a blast shield that would work?

Thats kind of what I thought. I picked up an MBX 170, but was looking at adding an extension to at least one of my 140s. Thanks guys!

Ok, tried searching but couldn't find anything. I have 140mm mags now, and was looking for an extension that adds capacity, and brings it to around 170mm. Does anyone know of an extension for 2011 mags that adds 5 or 6 rounds?

I'm thinking of picking up one of these just for a range gun something I can let others shoot other than my nice custom build guns, what kind of price did you get on the 40 and where ? Thanks
My local shop in Green Bay ordered it in for me. $1400 out the door.

Just picked up one of these in 40, because I got tired of shooting minor. This thing has the tightest slide to frame fit I have ever felt, and needs a little break in to rectify the intermittent failure to return to battery. Accuracy is amazing.

I struggled with shot calling until recently. I started to incorporate a drill where I am shooting at a bare backstop. When I do this, I'm not concerned with hits, just trying to watch the sights rise and fall...blocking out every other input except visual. I start slow, and gradually speed up my cadence. I usually start each practice session out this way to "tell" my eyes what to do for the rest of the session.

I have a 1.5-8 as well. My only complaint is the weight. It adds almost 2 pounds to the rifle.
the Burris rep didn't believe me when I told him the 1.5 x 8 was 2 lbs. he had to fact check his own product? to clarify my quote on there earlier statement. I told him I needed the scope for a match in Oct. his quote was " they will be here before then, I don't have a shipping date yet"
Yeah, after running around with it on my jp-15 for a few matches, I'm looking for something a little lighter. My buddies new MTAC is only 14oz, and the reticle is decent.

I have a friend that is convinced he could double tap the long range steel. It has never worked a single time, yet he still insists on doing it
