  1. The only thing I can think of is that most of the longish shooting back east is NRA Highpower. 75+ grain bullets are the norm there, and the online forums reflect that. I still have a bunch of heavy bullets from shooting that game, they don't get used at all for 3 gun. Nosler Ballistic Tips or Hornady V-Max is what I've used for years when I traveled west to shoot Rocky Mountain 3 Gun.

I saw that! I highly doubt I can make it - that's the last weekend we have our rental, so I'll probably be scrambling to get the new house as close to live-able as possible. Thanks for the heads up, though!

Good luck with your shooting in New England. You may wind up driving a bit more than you think, but good clubs are there.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm literally compiling a spreadsheet to keep track of all of the clubs around.

I shot an IDPA match at the Sig facility. It was... not great, but I hear their USPSA is a lot better. It also fills up in about twenty-five seconds.

I'm shooting another match at Woburn this weekend. Should be fun!

Also, it looks like most clubs pack it in for the winter (December through March). What do you guys do in those months?

Search BUAS on Practiscore. It's indoor, 4 stages and the number of shooters are limited as the USPSA group must be done and torn down by 1:00 PM. They fill up fast since it's only 25 or 30 shooters that can play. Stages are challenging and fun. Search on YouTube for some of the shooters, you'll see it's not just simple stages.

    HELP!

I've had a Benelli MP95E with 2 mags for several years & enjoyed it as a lite target gun but mostly for recreational use. My club's junior rifle team shot at the M.I.T. range in Cambridge and I got to know the people there. Their (MIT) pistol coach recommended this Benelli model for target use as his team used them reliably for years. So I bought one and used it occasionally. I shoot his recommended CCI Std Velocity ammo.

Now, 20 years later, it's giving me lots of problems. The biggest problem is extracting the empty shell. The action is clear/open on top. During extraction, the empty shell seems to rub up too much on the next round on the magazine and stops in a jam leaving the action open. The next bullet is sufficiently marked on top so it wouldn't have chambered anyway.

It seems that I may have a magazine problem.

    Has anyone encountered this situation?

Where can I find a reliable gunsmith to fix this?

Contact Gregg Derr at Derr Precision. Gregg is a bullseye shooter he may have insight on your issues with the Benelli.

Look in the Monson area that maybe a shorter drive they run a uspsa on I think the third Sunday

    Hi Dan

Harvard would a lot closer than the Monson club. From Litchfield there isn't a short/fast way to Monson that I'm aware of.

You have me at a disadvantage, I may know you, but I'll need a name. :)

I grew up not far from where you are going to be.

Check out the matches at Dunbarton NH.   The have a level 2 every year, and the monthlies can be 100 plus shooters on 7 stages.

SIG academy will be about an hour from you as well.   They have steel challenge and outdoor USPSA on weekends, and some indoor USPSA as well.

Berwick is a long ride, but they had the Area shoot last year.

There are others, but those are what comes to mind.

Berwick is about 30 minutes from the Sig Academy. Area 7 was held in at the Hampden Rifle and Pistol Club in Maine.

  7. I used Wilson/Rogers mags with Devel followers and springs since the 1980's with no problems. I guess the Wilson 47D was the new designation. Replacement followers and springs worked good, but were a bitch to seat. So, Wilson ETM's are what get used in matches.

How many people here know about Devel? Damn, I'm old.

Another question on the optics track. Does anyone use a magnifier with your red dot/Holo sight? I just shot a match this weekend with a high percentage of targets at 30-70 meters. While I did ok, I'm wondering if it would have been beneficial with a flip-down magnifier together with my UH-1 for the longest shots. Is this something anyone does for USPSA etc.? Or should I forget about it and just practice more long shots?

Your zero distance probably was more of an issue than lack of magnification.
