Hi All: Sorry for the short notice. Been so busy putting the match together, I forgot to post here. Anyway, Road Ends Practical Shooters will host a USPSA Special Classifier Match this Sunday, July 30th. Sign up and shooters briefing at 8:30 AM, walk thru 8:45 - 9:00 AM. There will be 6 classifiers. Following is the email match announcement in case anyone is interested: Howdy: We have gotten sufficient response to hold the IPSC / USPSA Special Classifier this Sunday. There will be 6 stages (all classifiers). Cost will be $20 for non Road Ends members, $15 for members, active duty military, and LEO's. Increased cost is due to the increased amount that needs to be "kicked upstairs" to USPSA for the special classifier fee. For those of you that don't know, a special classifier match is a match of all classifier stages (typically 4, but as many as 6 under the new rules), so that new shooters can get their classification, shooters wanting to change division, or shooters looking to advance in class, can do in one day what typically takes 4 to 6 separate matches. Match begins at 9AM (1 hour earlier than normal) Sunday, July 30th. Most of the setup will take place on Saturday afternoon at about 4PM. We will hang the paper on Sunday AM prior to the match. Anyone that feels so moved, and wants to come out and help, it's always appreciated. By the way, in case anyone is interested, we will be offering a concealed weapon class on Sunday, as well, beginning at 1PM. The class is taught by Bill Whatley, a 25 year veteran, and former Weapons Instructor of the Polk County Sherrif's Dept. Bill's class is not just the boilerplate "application session." There will be trigger time as well as classroom. Most importantly, you will gain some real world skills, that could save your life in a situation that we all hope never happens. Hi All: Just a reminder that we will have the monthly match as scheduled this Saturday at 10 AM. Please be on time, so that we can start on time, as the minute the match is over, a couple of us are headed to Mississippi with relief supplies. I will take care of the Lion's share of the setup on Friday nite, as long as the weather cooperates. If I get rained out, setup will be Saturday morning at 7:30 We will have 4 great stages, and there WILL be a classifier. Next month, as it cools off, all matches will contain 5 stages until next Summer. Howdy All: Just wanted to reach out and invite all Central Fla shooters within driving distance to our 2nd regular pistol match.Should be a good one. There will be 5 great stages, including a classifier. Total round count for the match (for you "perfect" shooters" that never miss) is 103. I guess for the rest of us, that translates into something like 130. In the coming months, as the temperature goes down, the round count will go up, but while it's as hot as it's been, I wanted to make an attempt not to cook everyone, while still putting on an interesting match. I have a couple of favors to ask...... Any suggestions to make our matches more appealing, challenging, enjoyable.....PLEASE speak up. As always, it's about having fun. We're glad to have you all on our range, and if we can do something to make the shooting experience better for you, we're interested in hearing about it! Come on out and shoot...and bring a friend ! Hi All: Have gotten a bunch of emails asking for directions to the range, so as per my response to all of you, I am posting here: Directions From North: Rte 27 to RWS Ranch Rd. Turn Right (West) on RWS Ranch Rd, take it to end. Close the gate behind you. RWS is between 5 and 6 miles south of I-4, and a good landmark is Webbs Candy Factory (BIG goats milk fudge sign) on your LEFT. RWS is directly across the road. From South: Rte 27 to RWS Ranch Rd (about a mile north of the WalMart in Haines City), turn LEFT (West)on RWS Ranch Rd. Again, Look for Webb's Candy Factory (on your right). RWS is directly across the road. Take it to the end, close the gate behind you. From Orlando area: I-4 West to x 55 (Rte 27 SOUTH-Haines City), then follow Directions from NORTH, above. From Tampa area: I-4 East to x 55 (Rte 27 SOUTH-Haines City), then follow directions from NORTH, above. Really hope to see a bunch of you out there, should be a good time. Jim is a good man. He was extremely helpful in helping us get our first match off the ground.
