Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Matt replied back and it would seem that the problem is a lack of radius on the back of the guide rod. He is sending me a new one this week. Its frustrating when you spend a lot of money on a gun and there are issues but the fact that on the day after Christmas after 6pm on a Saterday Matt did everything in his power to help me figure out what was wrong with my gun and is sending me the parts to fix it. That is OUTSTANDING customer service!
  2. I have an e mail out to Matt.
  3. By any chance did you change the mount screws on the C-More? They are two long!!! Those screws should be flush with the frame. Don't shoot the gun until you or a smith corrects those screws. Yeah I added a GoGuns Gas peddle. The screws need to be shortened a bit but its not as bad as it looks in the picture. I think it looks worse due to the shadows and oil. In any event, the problem predates adding the gas peddle though and there are no marks on the screw tips indicating that they are making contact.
  4. No shok buff on it. The gun is plenty wet with SLiP EWL which is what I use on all my guns. I broke it down after I posted that and looked at it under light and a magnifier and there is wear and bur marks where the head of the guide rod fits into the frame.
  5. The last two matches and during one practice session I have had an issue with my gun. After firing a few shots (3-10 or so) the slide will bind. (Think feeling like a hand full of sand was dumped into the gun feel) After smacking the rear of the slide hard a few times I am able to get it back forward but it still is tight and does not move freely. I disassemble it and can find no issues or abnormal burrs or wear marks. reassemble it and everything runs fine. several stages later it will do the same thing with out warning. This has only happened 4 times out of the last 800 rounds. I am leaning toward it being the guid rod rotating slightly and the head binding in the frame/slide and causing it to lock up but only because I can’t see anything else that would be doing it. I am at a loss. The gun is a CK Arms Thunder open with approx 800 rounds through it. Other than this issue it runs great. Thoughts?
  6. Zeros are fast bullets and MG are slow bullets. Sarge I get my Zeros for about $120 per 1K which is a bit cheaper than the MGs are listed. The Zeros certainly make major with less powder in my experience and are shooting about .75 in groups at 15 yards which is about as good as I can hold. I hear a lot of good about the MGs but am I missing something? And as a follow up........... 7.8 was noticeably flatter and I am not sure that the extra push was all that derogatory. Given that there appeared to be no signs of over pressure and 7.8 seems acceptable in most loads, is there anything wrong with going to 180 to get a bit flatter shooting load?
  7. I used info in this thread to work up a load for my new CK Thunder 9mm. Glad I started low and worked up in .3 gr increments. Just goes to show you every gun is different. Zero 115 JHP 7.5 gr WAC 1.167 COL CCI Small Pistol 1518 FPS 173PF The 7.8 gr load defiantly lets the comp work and I saw no signed of overpressure but it was 1580 avg FPS at a 180PF
  8. I can't testify as to CK Arms warranty yet as I just got my 9mm Thunder Open gun but I can say that I have bounced emails back and forth with Matt several times asking questions that I could not find answers to and he has responded usually within minutes. Seems kinda crazy to me to answer a D...A..'s latest question at 8:30 pm on a Friday night when anyone else would have waited until normal work hours but I really appreciated it. The only other company that I have seen near that level of customer service is Dillion.
  9. As a matter of fact I am working up loads for both my guns as we speak. Thanks for the welcome guys. Have already learned a lot just by reading and plan to continue.
  10. Hey guys, I am Bill from TN. I took a 15 year break from USPSA and am now just getting back into the game. Classed as a B in both Open and Limited but as can be expected I am shooting a high or Low C in most local matches right now. Intend to fix that pretty quickly. Currently setting up my new CK Thunder 9mm and still running my old 40 S&W Para Limited Gun. Looking forward to learning and improving.
