  1. So I replaced the stock front sight in my limited. It's a great sight but it keeps coming loose, no matter how many times I tighten it its loose after the first stage. The set screw is so small and I can't remove it to lock tite it. Has anyone tried the Henning front sight?

  2. mine were a pain to get on and off when I first got them. check the little lips on the bottom of the mag for any dings and smooth them up a bit.

The detents were also super stiff.

Now I can easily push down the detent with my thumb, slide off the pad, remove guts, run a brush through and pop it back on very easily with no tools or banging on stuff needed. I run 6 of them on the chrome 38 tubes that were inbetween the old plain SA38 tubes and the new K38 tubes (sort of a hybrid between the 2 styles).

Like I said, when new they were a long way from being 'easy off'. They were a bitch to get on and off and I marked one up bad with a spring.

So my feeling is yours will break in nicely too with some use. Stick with them, they are the nicest pads for the tanfog tubes once they break in a little. :)

I will take a look at my mags make sure they are not jacked up on the bottom.

  4. Mine come off easy. Plus I've never done it at a match. The mags and gun are not very sensitive to dirt is there a reason why you are cleaning them so often?

I have the 140mm base pads for limited,I am not going to take them apart and clean them unless I have an issue with one, just wipe them off good.

I think you are talking about the H-141 base pads for 140mm mags? I use the henning H-141 basepads and like them, but agree that getting them off can be a little tricky sometimes it feels like I am bending the spring (but have never done so).

If you want a really easy on-off base pad the Caspian Quick Change is very good and works great on the large frame Tanfo mags. The only negative is that if you are running a magwell you will need to remove some material from the sides of the Caspian base pad to get clearance between it and the mag well. I've seen some nice work on the base pads using a ball end mill to make the cut for the clearance.

Yes they are the H-141 base pads, thanks for the info.

  6. I am running the Henning base plates with the grams followers on my Limited. The issue I have is after a stage or 2 and I want to clean my mags. They are not very easy to get off my mags, the little detent piece that keeps them on the mag is a pain to get to clear the mag to remove. Without using a knife or some other sharp object. And by having to do this some of them have stuck in the base plate and are hard to get to pop out again. Anyone else had this issue?

  7. I mentioned it above, but I like to have some where for my pinkys to rest against the frame/gun while gripping the gun. The shock bottle base pads do not come all the way to the front of the grip frame like these do.

Eric does not show them on his site.

Those of you that say EAA sells them, why do you say so, they are not shown on their website, or even in their PDF catalog.

They are on the EAA site, they cost $43 per base plate..... I emailed EAA with the same question because I was wanting to order some for the rest of my mags, but not at $43. you can get the Henning or TF pads with Grams kit for that price or close.
