There are multiple reasons for JHP. Comp leading is the biggest, the exposed lead base of the FMJs will cause the comp to lead more than the fully encapsulated bases of a JHP or CMJ. Accuracy is a minor added benefit for JHPs, as they are generally the most accurate bullets built. The reason they aren't used by all shooters across all divisions is simple: shooters are cheap.

    Thank you ?

Rumor has it that JHP are more accurate than FMJ. I don't know because I have never shot FMJ out of my open gun so I can't really tell you but I just went off of what the rumor stated.

Ok let's assume that that is true. My question now would be is it because of the higher velocity of 9mm major that the JHP is more stable? If not than why is everyone not loading JHP across all divisions? Just a thought.

It's on his site too. But I'm not sure if he ships to the US I don't know anyone who has.

I ended up ordering this one from Eric's site, I shipped quick had it in about a week. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. I does appear that it is going to set a little lower that the factory so I will probably have to change the front site out. But at least I know its not going to fly apart at any time during a stage any longer : )

  4. I have a Limited Elite with the stock mag well. This issue is to be expected, and is not unique to Tanfo guns or Henning mag wells. The grip frame is steel and the mag well is aluminum. As the dissimilar metals heat and cool they expand and contract at a different rate. This causes the screw to loosen up enough over time for the mag well to move slightly under recoil.

The solution is to red Loctite the mag well on. Put red Loctite on the inside surfaces of the rail that mates the frame to the mag well. Then red Loctite the screw. This keep the mag well rock solid, and you will never have to worry about it again.

I tired that, I used red loctite on the screw and on the magwell. I put it on everything, it still didnt hold. it made it about a stage and moved pinching my mag. At this point I am going to put to stock magwell back on.

Did you clean the surfaces with rubbing alcohol to remove oil and grime? Since the bonding surfaces are hard chrome and aluminum you should also use loctite primer. The primer helps loctite activate and bond too what they refer to as "inactive" surfaces such as aluminum and chrome. It's available for $14.99 on Amazon. It has worked for me.

Loctite 37509 Klean 'N Prime Anaerobic Activator Aerosol Can, 4.5-oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002KKTSG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_IxIYwbDKNYZ

So I tried again to get this thing to stay on and not move during matches with no luck, I ended up stripping the screw while at a match. I ended up putting the stock magwell back on and have had no issues what so ever. I inadvertently destroyed the magwell getting it off.... Sorry Henning.

  6. Henning gave me a call last night and went over a few things. First the screw that is on the magwell in a little small which he designed on purpose. He said that the hole that the screw goes into on the frame varies from gun to gun so they had to make it little smaller for it to fit all. He said to use red loctite and It will be fine. Henning called me personally after a email that I sent out. His customer services is top notch and he cares about these guns and his product he puts out. You just don't get services like his from anywhere else. I'm lucky enough to live close by his shop so if I need him to work on anything he is the only place Ill go to, and buy any parts for my Tanfos. He is a true professional.

  7. I have Hennings new magwell and haven't had any problems. I used loctite 243 over 242 because it is less affected by oil on the bonding surfaces. I also used the loctite primer spray before I applied the loctite which helps it form a stronger bond with the metal. It's held solid.

If you don't have those things them clean the bonding surfaces really well with brake cleaner or something to that effect. Then dry surfaces with compressed air and apply loctite and allow adequate curing time.

Dave Dawson's video on installing his front sights on YouTube is helpful. He goes over how to prep a surface for loctite.

I'm going to tear it down again, clean it good and loctite everything this time. Thanks for the info.

  8. So I purchased Hennings new magwell for my limited and the thing keeps sliding forwards. In result it is punching my mags making a smooth reload at Match speed impossible. I have used loctighted on the screw and torqued it as much as I can But it is still moving. Anyone else run into this problem?
