  1. The barrels all look tight to the bottom of the slide. Sounds like your gun has tight lockup and you're not letting the slide close at full speed.

Pull the slide all the way back and let go. Should go into battery fine. It might loosen up in a few thousand rounds, but tight lockup is good for accuracy

Y’all are correct. If I slingshot the slide it goes into battery. So no “press checks” without really pushing on the slide. Although yesterday I press checked with ammo in it and it didn’t do this so that’s why I was confused. Whats everyone doing for triggers? I love it but it’s a little gritty. Maybe when I clean and lube it that will go away. Obviously grey guns but is it a huge upgrade?

  2. So i picked up my X5 today and ran a few mags through it. Right off the bat it’s a GREAT shooter. Pretty dang flat but FOR SURE the best polymer pistol I’ve shot and I love my p10. Being that I loved it so much, I also got an X compact. Here is my issue. I had zero issues at all with my gun while shooting. Didn’t clean it first but only ran a few mags. I get home and take it out of the box to put up and notice the barrel is extremely tight to the bottom of the slide opening and it will not dryfire because it won’t go into battery. If I push on the back of the slide, it will go in but it is not right. Here are some pics. Any ideas??

  3. Not in any way trying to be a dick but going from belt to chest isn't going to solve any loading technique issues.

I would think it would make them worse getting in the way and everything. That’s a lot of crap in the way while moving arms and hands loading. I’m sure like everything it can be trained around.

  4. I just recently picked up a VR 80 and have a question. Using a magazine fed shotgun would (I assume) throw me in the “open” category. Currently I use a Benelli and a DVC 3 gun. If I go open, what pistol would you all recommend? I’ve got Glock’s and a p10c with RMR and even a tp9sfx with a vortex red dot and would probably fun one of those just to try open but what’s a good open gun that’s not $5-6000?? I know the STI DVC OPEN looks pretty cool and you can get them for around $4000 but what else is out there for that range? Thanks in advance!!

  5. I shoot 3 gun and steel challenge mainly. Tomorrow I’m shooting steel with both brothers and a friend. All 3 of these people would NEVER shoot 3 gun with me. I’ve tried a million times. I’ve offered all my gear and even my Ammo and got told now way. Working on shooting idpa or something else now....I think it’s “too much effort” if you don’t have self motivation to try. No one talked me into it. I showed up and shot idpa and got invited to 3 gun. Did It once extremely under gunned and got hooked.
