(1).   Most all 9 major loads are compressed.  Having said that, I would not load that short.

     (2)   MG bullets require more powder than other 115.  I have used MG in numerous barrels. IMHO, MG bullets are harder and do not seal the barrel as tight as other bullets.   The gas escapes around the bullet reducing FPS.  Another indication of this was the amount of lead in my comp with MG JHP.  When I switched to another JHP 115, the lead in the comp was almost nil.

    (3)  KKM barrels (in my experience) are faster than other brands, meaning less powder needed for the same FPS.

    (4) If you load long (1.165) and are experiencing feeding issues--you might want to look at the feed ramp or the feed ramp fit to frame.  Except short chambered barrels, 99% of the barrels used for Open guns will feed 1.165 without issue.

    1. My previous loads weren't, so I'm just checking.

    2. I don't shoot MG?

    3. As previously stated my barrel is slow.

    4. As mentioned earlier I will not be loading longer than 1.150. My gun likes short and it can not be changed easily.

  2. Like the title says, my gun likes short ammo and I'm loading up some test batches to hopefully run over the chrono this weekend. At 1.140 with a 115 JHP from precision delta the 8.9 powder charge is compressed for sure. The 8.7 appears to be just touching if my math is correct.

Then either they are liars, or just terrible ROs.

I agree too. Either they knew the steel fell and didn't care to act like he was gonna possible come back and get it, or they never saw it.

It's okay to admit you are wrong occasionally. Anyone who has eyes and who has read through this knows that you were wrong here. Continuing to dig in just makes you look all the more contemptible.

Id have to agree here. Dude was down range lol

If you are not using the primer/accelerator, make sure you let the Loctite set up for 24 hours at above 70 degrees F.

I did the last time, lasted a lot longer but alas, it's loose.

this needs to be mentioned once again.

    242 (blue)-little muscle

272 (red)-need copious amounts of heat

    290 (green)-good luck

    480 (black)-fuggedaboutit

the move is magnified as the thread diameter get's larger-YMMV

I use 680 which is supposed to be the strongest and it still comes loose :( gonna have to use my set screws.

It really depends on the powder.  I've noticed that some of the more expensive powders (VVs for example) leave minimal residue at any one location while cheaper powders leave a mess everywhere.

Sir, I would never feed such a fine machine cheap powder! I have spared no expense! At $20 a pound HS6 is a king among men!

Lol it it is pretty cheap and dirty.

  8. Noticed the back of my actual optic and the glass on the backside is getting pretty dirty with soot/carbon. Is this normal?

    2011 platform

    cheely mount

    DPP optic.

Thinking of of switching to the Everglades mount to help get it back more, should I be worried about a early unlocking?

  9. The swaging backup die hits the cases ledge that have the stepped case and stope the press, i back up just a touch and throw the offending piece of brass away and continue on loaded. When loading for majors I also look info every case as it rotates out of the feeder arm just as a back up in case the backup die misses one (which I don't think it ever has).

I had one seperate at a match, I feel your pain.

  10. Mine had a lot of issues going into battery. It would hang up occasionally and always felt like it chugged a round in rather than a smooth feed. I was loading long because everybody says too. I now load at 1.150 and all my issues are gone and it cycles so smooth you can't tell it it's dry or picking up a round.

I think he said R-P. I'd contribute the weird look to the fact that it blew out and had quite the fire on the outside of the case.

I agree woth others, even though you have a super slow barrel 7.5 is a lot of WAC. I'd look for a better powder, but that's just me :) I'm shooting HS6 with a LSI comp and 2 holes and I like it a lot.
