When u do that does the firing pin protrude enough to rest on the breech face?

I never dry fire any weapon especially .22. On a mp 15-22 just slide open the slide and pull the trigger easing the hammer down

I know dry firing is a no no on .22 but can u slide the bolt back and ease the hammer down without damaging the pin ? And if this is done ..does the firing pin protrude resting on the breech face ? Thanks
