I had a similar problem. I just took the whole thing apart and gave it a good cleaning, lubed it up and everything worked as good as new. Hopefully this will work for you.

I have found this great conditioning program, keeping up with your 4 year old. Take him/her to a park and do everything they do. Possible side effects include grey hair and full body soreness but it really helps your overall fitness and is great for bonding. Kinda expensive though.

It does have the interchangeable breech face. Triggers real nice. A little roughed up on the appearance (holster wear) but I plan on using it so it will get worse.

If that is the fastest you can do that drill now with time and practice then it is fast. It dosent matter if someone else can do the same drill in 4 or 5 seconds only matters what your capable of.
Tattooo is right. There will always be someone better, with continued practice that someone will be you.

I use my thumb to slide the vest back and then grab the mag. I don't think it matters how I do it though. You stated your times were even and one method was more consistent for you. I would choose the more consistent way. It's only going to get better with practice.

Dry fire is extremely helpful for improving. You will need to mix in live fire practice to keep yourself honest though.

I am failing on the photos. How do you do that on here?

Do they make a habit of trying to engage the safety on every 1911/2011 they run through chrono?
Remember limited is intended for highly modified guns. Seems to me some production guns are trying to walk a fine line that treads very close to crossing beyond what the division was designed to be.

Welding adds a lot of heat to the metal. It will often cause the metal to distort in fairly unpredictable ways. I'm not going to say this will not work but I would not try it. I would guess your best chance for success would be to tig weld. Best of luck if you give it a go.

i will have respectfully disagree. His accomplishments as a trainer in person and with his books get him there in my book.
He is a local shooter so maybe I'm a little biased

Watch this first, you may decide to do it yourself.

I am looking at selling my TSO to fund a 2011 buy. If interested send me a PM.
I was able to get a great deal on a 2011 and have gone that route. I still believe the TS or TSO would be every bit the equal of a 2011 at a better price point.

Quite the opposite which is why I am beginning to think I should just use them up.

Yes! LOL
Slight press fit has to allow the sight to move. Generally the outside should have a press fit and the center section that "hinges" should be able to move on the pin.
Then slightly peen the ends for insurance.
So thus my answer of yes!
Thank you. This is my plan now. Easy enough to do and sounds like it will work perfectly.

I find the nearest larger drill bit size (metric or standard) then I fit it. You might be able to find a 1.8mm bit. I use a dremmell and fine paper to reduce the diameter and cut to length. It doesn't take much time once you find the right bit.
Press fit or peen the ends?

Is it supposed to be a slight press fit or are you to peen the ends? I'm fine with either method.

I may be in the minority but I feel ROing helps my performance. I stay completely loose but catch many details of the other shooters that I can work into my stage plan if my turn in the rotation is still to come. The biggest benefit is how loose I stay.

There are pros and cons for both. I have shot production for the last two season but will be moving to limited for my next match.
Production:
Pros:
allows you to shoot IDPA with the same setup
the emphasis on hitting alphas hammers home accuracy
forces you to become well rounded on all of the fundamentals of shooting
cheaper
Cons:
harder to finish high in overall standings
alot to learn early in your shooting "career"
Limited (major):
pros:
drives home pure speed
easier to concentrate on the movement (because you can just move and not always reload and move at the same time)
easier to finish higher
more hairs on fire fun ?
Cons:
price of entry

We average 5-6 hours with setup and tear down included for only 6-8 stages.

Probably not but I originally thought some cleaning media (walnut shell) caused my problem. That can fall in anywhere at anytime. It's a quick, easy, and free thing to try.
