They are fun. Is there a need for any other reason?

    NOPE.

Like rimfire challenge guns (maybe the funnest guns known to mankind). It's ok to use guns for things non tacticular. Go ahead and enjoy it fellas/ladies. Tell your wife/husband/chillins it is for their own protection if you need to.

    Just as an update

i disassembled the buffer and removed one weight bringing it down to 4.5 oz

    functions perfectly now.

I also bought an adjustable buffer and second BCG just in case, but didn’t need them.  I will have to build another rifle to be sure they get used :)

thanks for the help.  I May end up putting the adjustable gas block back in but not sure just yet.  Want to shoot a few matches first

Late to the party. Glad you got it running.

I had an 18" faxon gunner barrel. Although I was using a -10% spring and lo mass buffer, as well as LW BCG, I was surprised to find the gas block was only like one click down from full open.

But it ran great, and was super soft shooting and very light/pointy. Was a pleasure to shoot.

Did you do any accuracy testing on the faxon?

Is that who's making those? I've  been tempted to grab them at the sale prices I've seen.

I picked up one for a small 11.3" build. I got the red/chrome "special addition". Was on sale for like $80.00.

Not going to replace my Hiperfires, but it is damn good. Hard to imagine a better trigger for the money. I like it better than CMC's I have used. If you have a gun and don't want to spend $300 on a trigger it is a good option, imo.

^^^^^^^^^^^  This.  The point is to flatten the curve to attempt to keep the number of sick lower than the number of physicians, and more importantly the limited number of ventilators to treat them.  If we outstrip those capabilities TP will be the least of anybody's worries.

Just two more weeks should get it done.

25% of all covid cases in the US are the UK variant and only hit the US in December 2020. The UK B117 is doubling its case count every 9 days.

Just wanted to correct the "china flu" comment that went unchallenged. Don't know why people have to be like that.

    Otherwise great thread. Thanks

Thanks. The Wuhan Flu was bad indeed.

Didn't Vogel throw weight on his limited gun slide to slow it down and help recoil a touch?  Thought I saw an IG post from someone else as well, could be crazy idk.

Yes, I saw that as well. It was a slide mounted weight.

Not to be confused with the light that he filled with shot and attached to frame.

Where is the post-travel screw accessed? Waiting to get mine and I want to know where all the adjustments are before I have a similar issue. I know the pretravel is accessed through the top of the frame.

    On the trigger face.

You might as well go all the way to the Taccom buffer and 20% reduced power spring and see if it makes the difference you're looking for.

The nice thing about the Taccom is it is so cheap to try out.

I really like the "feel" of a SCS. When charging it feels smooooooth. However, I've been quite happy with the taccoms and just see no reason to dump nearly 200$ on something that won't make my gun shoot flatter. And, I have never noticed spring noise, although others that use my rifles seem to. Doesn't annoy me at all.

  8. Love my Tanfo. Sexy Italian gun and super fun to shoot. It shoots great and I love everything but the checkering, which sucks. Had to do some work to get gun where I want it. And was lucky to get a used gun that had nice parts to begin with. Coming from a CZ-75 it made sense to me as well. Internally. For the price I am happy and as a hobbyist, a wait for a part means I can shoot other guns/matches/classes, if it were to break. I ain't winning any championships, to understate it.

But if I were serious about shooting Limited Major, and had a little deeper pockets, I'd buy-once-cry-once on a nice semi-custom 2011. STI set up to my liking or something.

Holsters is a big one. Race parts, availability, etc.

But you could get two Tanfos and for that. If you like tinkering they may be the gun for you. Mine has been very reliable and I do love it.
