  1. I like the post by zipper046 because that has been my route to my current trigger but replace Vantec and Zev with Glocktriggers.com (Vogel) and TTI for me. Robert Vogel basically does a .25 cent trigger job and drops in a TTI connector and calls it good. However, he did say that he had to try about 10 different trigger components in various combinations with all of his Glocks to get the feel he was after so even though he basically has a stock polished trigger with a TTI connector, he did have to go through 10 guns to find the magic. My magic was found with a Johnny Glock trigger. I would venture to say that my accuracy went up 25% the first time I shot that trigger. My speed increased a little too but only because I was able to push a little harder with the increase in accuracy. I usually finish near the top of my local matches in raw time and somewhere in the top 1/4 for accuracy which usually lands me in the top 3 overall. My very first match after installing the Johnny Glocks trigger I won outright with the fastest time and the highest accuracy. The second place guy actually had twice as many points down as I did. That never happens to me. Someone on this thread asked for a measurable difference. I'd say that's it.
  2. Hey guys, Johnny just uploaded an impromptu interview that he did with me right after finishing the trigger job. I thought some of you might like to check it out: I just shot my first match with it tonight and posted some of my best scores yet. I'm loving this thing! -Chad (Austringer)
  3. The arrow absolutely makes a difference. Just ask my wife. She's better with a bow than I am with a gun. See exhibit A: JDW174, it's a Daranich Tactical. He's local to me in Raleigh, NC. I use his holster and matching carbon fiber finish mag pouches. It's good stuff. You can find it here: http://www.daranichtactical.com/
  4. Thanks RangerTrace. I'm really looking forward to the local matches this weekend. Even though I expect it'll take me about 2 weeks before the new pull and reset are completely comfortable to me, it's already helping my shooting now. You can try mine if you wait until next year. I'll be 2 hours from you in Paris TX on Apr. 23rd - 26th.
  5. Alright guys, I just got back home to good ole NC and ran out to the range after work today to test out the new trigger. This is my first time putting rounds down range with this new trigger group and it did not disappoint. I ran 2 drills, the plate rack at 10 yards and a Bill drill (7 yards) and I set a personal best on both of them on my very first runs. The exciting thing about that is I know I will go faster as I learn the new reset point. I'm not at all familiar with the new short stroke and reset so I anticipate better times once I get more time behind the trigger. I figure video is worth 10,000 words so here you go.
  6. JBP55, I'm sorry if you feel like I mislead anyone but that simply isn't the case. The sole purpose for my trip was to get my trigger worked on and I just so happen to have a place to stay somewhat nearby. What does it matter if I flew to moon to get a trigger job done? The results are the only thing that matters. I could have purchased a whole new firearm with the money I've spent on looking for the right trigger system (for me) so the distance wasn't a factor. Also, I wanted to make absolutely certain that I got what I wanted and I knew my chances of getting that was greater by being onsite with the gunsmith rather than trusting a drop in that shows up in the mail. Now that I've seen the process, I won't hesitate to order subsequent drop in kits. I'm not sure where the negativity is coming from but this is why I never bother with these forums. I thought I would share some good news with everyone but it doesn't seem like it is being received that way. If I told you that I drove to California to discover the cure for cancer would you point out that I was misleading people because I stayed with a friend in San Diego? By the way, if I did discover the cure, I might just sign up for a few forums to let some people know about it and my first post might sound like an endorsement for the cure, because it would be!
  7. RangerTrace, will do. I have yet to put 1 round through it unfortunately. I've probably dry fired it about 1,000 times in the last 2 days but no lead yet. As soon as I get back home (leaving tomorrow) I'll be hitting the range and I'll let you know how it performs. I also have a local match this weekend so I'll really be able to put it through it's paces there as well. I'll try to get some video for you too.
  8. As far as my first post goes, I joined this forum for the sole reason to post to this thread because before I decided to try the Johnny Glock trigger, I found this discussion and decided that I would update it when I got mine in hand, for better or for worse. Thankfully I'm a happy customer so you guys get to hear my smiling through the keyboard. My brother-in-law lives in Tampa, and hour north of Sarasota where Johnny Glock is located. I used the trip to visit family and to get my Glock dialed in.
  9. Wow, the skepticism is amazing, but I suppose it's justified. JBP55: It was hard for me to imagine that such a trigger existed too but I can assure you that it does indeed. I have one But to be fair, Johnny Glock's version isn't the only one on the market without any pre and over travel. I first bought The Vogel trigger from Glocktriggers.com and it had very little travel and was also adjustable but it wasn't as light as I wanted. I also experimented with various connectors and the best I found was the Taran Tactical connector. I ended up swapping out my Vogel connector for the Taran connector. That gave me the feel I wanted and the limited travel but it was still too heavy of a trigger for my taste. The Johnny Glock trigger was the only system that had everything I wanted. I see you are in Louisiana. My wife is a professional archer and competes in Louisiana at least twice a year. Depending on where you're located, you are welcome to meet up with me and try it for yourself. However, you can easily see from Johnny's youtube videos that there is no pre or over travel:
  10. Guys, I drove to Sarasota, FL this weekend from Chapel Hill, NC (12 hours) to have my competition Glock trigger worked on by none other than Johnny Glock himself. I must say, it was well worth the investment. I have been on the hunt for the perfect feeling trigger pull in my G34 since I started shooting competitively, and sadly I've wasted a lot of money and time in the process. I've literally tried them all, including doing my own work. Some came close, and all were better than stock, but none of them had that beautiful glass smooth, light, short travel pull that you would expect to find on a high-end DA gun. But this one absolutely does. This trigger is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Zero pre or over travel, no wall at all, and it's a sub 2 pound pull (mine is 1.8 pounds). It's absolutely incredible and I would recommend that anyone shooting a Glock that wants to squeeze every bit of performance out of their gear to consider contacting Johnny Glock. You won't be disappointed.
