Absolutely with friends - a big part of the enjoyment of the sport that's kept me coming back is the camaraderie.
-
I would also say a big part of the fun of this sport for me is customizing and tweaking and making the gun 'nice.' I've probably spent just as much time if not more working on guns as shooting them.
-
I also usually buy discounted gift cards online to get another 10% off or so. Strangely the cabela's gift cards usually have more than the bass pro ones, even though you can use them at either.

I like the 590 because it is easier to load because the carrier is always out of the way. On an 870, it stays down and is spring loaded so you could potentially dump shells on the ground if you are sloppy loading (which everyone is).
I have the 590 and I actually want a carrier there - it would make a nice ramp for twins or quad loading.

Try removing the spacers, maybe there's not enough bolt travel to clear out the brass.

You are talking about a dovetail mount or installing on a plate that came with the gun? If someone makes an aftermarket dovetail mount that allows an RTS-2 to fit, then yes it should install no problem. As far as plates that came with guns, I am not aware of any manufacturer that supplied plates that work with an RTS-2.
For optics ready guns where the slide is machined specifically for an optic, I am not aware of any factory gun that that would come ready to mount an RTS-2 or the Alpha 3. Please note that the Alpha 3 is longer than an RTS-2 (just like the Sig Max) so a recessed slide mount would require machine work by a qualified gunsmith.I was talking about with a plate. Looks like C-More makes one for the RTS-2 on the M&P CORE, but it's unclear to me if it'd fit the longer length of the Alpha 3:

Really like this guy's videos, and looks like he's wrapped it up with a Romeo3 Max vs SRO video:

Just to throw out one more suggestion, the Browning 1911-22. 85% the size of a full 1911.
-
While not typically used for competition, something like the M&P9ez might be easier for someone to rack and manipulate.

The flat-faced trigger with the FSS has the longer reach:
Curved FSS should be the same reach as the factory trigger.

And Option #4 is a laser.
Green laser since the red's aren't daylight-visible, and even green only works within 5-10 yards.

I zero at 100 since that's the peak of the curve and I know every other distance will be below it. My Burris XTR II has zero stops that make it difficult to adjust up, so this way I know all trajectories will be below it.

As a stage designer, I don't shy away from mixed-ammo shotgun stages, but I don't want to set the shooter up for failure (or create an unsafe situation for everyone else on the range). I try really hard to avoid the shooter being in a position where they can shoot close steel with a slug - ideally I have them start or finish on slug targets, and make the immediately adjacent birdshot targets static clays rather than steel (or really small steel, so less chance of a slug hit). It's not impossible to screw up (we have some very creative competitors), but I like to think it is a lot harder on my stages.
This. Why risk the danger and damaging the steel when you might have hundreds of shooters?

I've found some buffer tubes are short on the inside, not giving the full length of travel they should. Might be another thing worth checking or swapping.

How smokey is the syntech? I thought in general plated was preferred over coated for PCCs to keep from fouling up the comp.

The thumb safety and grip safety had a few sharp edges on my pro match. Sanded down the grip safety and replaced the thumb safety. I was able to reduce the trigger pull to 3.5 lbs just by adjusting the leaf spring.

Yes, they should be. You can confirm on their website, where the description will say if it's 140mm legal for USPSA:

In case you find a deal for a non-lite gun, I replace the barrel on mine with a Tactical Solutions buckmark barrel and like it a lot.
If I was looking for a new rimfire pistol now, though, I'd take a good luck at the new ruger 22/45 lite - it's takedown is easier than any other and you don't have to worry about the top screws getting loose like with the buckmark.

I've gone through a couple collapsible wagons before settling on this one from canopiesunlimitedusa on ebay:
They've also got an XL version, but this met my main criteria:
- Big wheels to go over gravel or rough terrain
- Doesn't have the design flaw on cheaper wagons where the front wheel posts are barely welded on by the side - huge weak point that breaks all the time
I do wish the handle on this one was collapsible so it didn't touch the ground when it's folded up. It'd also be nice if it didn't lie flat on the storage area, blocking access, and instead could stay straight up.

It is tough to beat the fun of a mag-fed shotgun though, if you're willing to go open. Rifle wouldn't be much different (45 offset optic, bigger muzzle brake maybe, and being able to add a bipod is nice). Pistol would need an optic, slide-mounted is good enough. Shotgun is the biggest difference though and is likely an entirely different gun, though - VR80 or VEPR12.
-
What are you using it for? Competition leads to bigger windows like the SRO, Romeo3 MAX, for FTP Alpha 3.

I've liked the hogue powerspeed holster - cheap and adjustable. Slides onto your belt loop, though, would have been nice if it could attach to tek-lok or ELS.

I haven't seen talk of recoil reducing weights for the m3000. Since it's inertia driven, though, I imagine too much weight could reduce reliability.

Also looking forward to a video on buffers and short-stroking. Have you tried the TACCOM extreme short stroke bolt? Seems to let you short stroke even further while still resetting the trigger. Also curious to see if you've tried their magnetic delayed blowback buffer system.
SV Infinity-thinking outside the box!
