  1. I was going to go with Epsilon VG6, but the CMMG barrel I am using is 1/2-36
(Got a super deal on it from  777 Tactical)
So I am limited on available brakes.

Shooting innovations does a 1/2-36. They may not have it on the site. Just call them.

  2. Pretty excited, I am finally starting to order and collect parts for this Kronos build.
Here is what I have, or have on the way.
Hopefully I am heading in the right direction  [emoji6]

Jones Arms Kronos upper and lower
    CMMG 16" barrel
    Fortis muzzle brake
    Elftman AR9 flat trigger
    Faxon gen2 BCG
    Blitzkrieg hyd buffer (carbine spring)
Aero Precision Atlas S One (15" M-Lok) handguard
Cheapest low bid (USA made) Furniture

I had the fortis brake. I was not happy with it and sold it immediately. Full sail brake is the way to go.

  3. Trying to pick a forearm cover is kinda overwhelming.
    Looking at the Atlas S

    Any other recommendations?
Do you prefer key-mod or M-Lok?
Trying to keep well under  $200

I went with the atlas so I can’t blame you if that’s the route you took

  4. I have a Jones Arms Kronos, and I recently overlayed my QC10 lower receiver with it. The Kronos Magwell is closer to the barrel than the QC10, and the mag is angled forwar about .5-.75 degrees more than the QC10. The difference is noticeable. My Kronos feeds all bullet profiles, no issues.

The Kronos receivers high points are:
    1. Magazine is moved forward closer to the barrel, mag angle has also been changed.
    2. It uses a standard AR15 magazine release button.
    3. It is Billet
    4. It has the nylon tipped tension set screw in the lower. This makes the upper not feel loose on the lower.
    5. It has the option for drop in Last round bolt hold open.
    6. If you purchase the receiver set the lower is matched to the upper and they are serialized to each other.
    7. The ejector has 2 holes in it for holding it in place. This does not allow it to move angle wise like one with a single hole can.

Currently the Kronos lower has an aluminum mag bar release in it, there is a steel setup coming out very soon.

    My Buffer setup is:
    A5 length tube
    Delrin spacer
    25lb wave spring
    Delrin spacer
JP Precision Ground .308 Rifle length spring
    Blitzkrieg 9mm Hydraulic buffer
    Shooting Innovations bolt

    The rest of my build:
Magpul CTR stock with .25" cheek riser and Limb saver butt pad. 14.25" length of pull
Hogue beavertail grip with finger grooves
Shooting innovations ambi safety milled to clear my hand on the right side
Hiperfire 24c trigger - running silver springs
    Charging handle has badger latch
    Odin extended mag release
Isler custom carbon fiber hand guard
    Shooting innovations 16" barrel
    Shooting innovations Full Sail Brake
    Crimson Trace CMR-206 laser
Leupold DeltaPoint Pro 2.5moa dot on DLOC mount

Let me know if you have any questions.

  5. Just ordered the blitzkrieg buffer
Now I need to start on some BCG homework.

    Any recommendations?

Are you on Facebook? Some of the guys from the Jones arms team spends lots of their own time and money on testings. They’ve posted testing and results on some of the groups.

  6. I am actually leaning towards the blitzkrieg now.

    I was thinking I wanted a 14" barrel
     (welded and pinned)
For the savings in weight and overall length.
But I guess a 16" barrel won't weigh that much more and will allow me to change my mind on brakes much easier.

My rifle built with optic is 6pd 12oz

  7. At this point, I think I am going to use an elftman trigger, and a taccom buffer, but that's about the only parts I am somewhat sure about at this point.

I run the blitzkrieg hydro buffer, jp 308 carbine spring, spacer/wave spring, faxon bcg and hiperfire 24c trigger.

Absolutely love my Kronos. There are so many things that Jones fixed with the ar9 design that are outstanding. I saw mention of moving the mag forward. The Kronos uses a traditional ar15 style mag release. Screws go throw the ejector locking in the ejector rather than holding it in by tension. The newer receivers have the option for last round hold open.

  9.
    Why?, purely out of curiosity.

If its a cost issue, you’re within dollars on any choice.

Typically people think the mags are expensive but regardless of the mag the spring is the weakest link.  If a person loads a mag to max capacity, regardless of the tube manufacturer, the spring I’d DONE in a matter of weeks or maybe months.  If you never load to max and keep the spring a round or so below max, it may last years.

If the tube works and feeds, the first sign of failure will be the spring.  If a new spring doesn’t fix it, it’ll be the follower or the tube generally.

bottom line, don’t be afraid to chuck crap after the first failure, unless it consistently fails on the first or last round, then it’s typically a lip issue which can potentially be fixed.

With the discount I got with tti, it came to $106 per mag shipped. Mbx would have been close to $140 per mag.
