I’ve had that same issue when ordering from them, I wish they would just have a live inventory tracker like shooterconnection does. When I order from Ben Stoeger now I always call to make sure they have the items in stock.

I really like the TTI extensions, never had any issues with them. I do use the henning grips and if I wanted to match colors between the grips and extension then I’d use the henning extensions.

I found 4 of the Hennings and 3 of the Grams kits in stock at Make Ready and I ordered them. They are local to me so I need to support them anyway. I will say this is the first time Ive had an issue with BenStoeger. All previous orders have been good to go.

The package label on the FKCMG-11 Follower Kit reads as follows:

This "Follower Kit" includes: A "Grams Format" follower (CMG) & (11 coil) spring. For use in CZ "small frame" (75/SP01/Shadow2), 9mm mag, manufactured by Mec-Gar (tube marked "CZ-75-9mm"-17 round), or factory supplied mag (2nd gen, tube marked with "CZ" emblem, "9mm"-17 round, or "40"-12 round), that measure up to 145mm long (with a base pad attached).

The package label on the FKC-11 Follower Kit reads as follows:

This "Follower Kit" includes: A "Grams Format" follower (C) & (11 coil) spring. For use in CZ "small frame" (75/SP01/Shadow2), factory supplied 9mm mag (1st gen, no markings, 16 or 18 round), that measure up to 145mm long (with a base pad attached).

The back of both of these labels reads as follows:

This "Follower Kit" is pre-tuned and requires no modifications for proper feeding function in a magazine tube of correct tolerances. The follower is designed for slide-lock function, but due to tolerance stacking of all of the slide lock system parts, modification of these parts may be necessary for proper slide lock function. Tuning of the mag tube may be required if the desired reliability or round count is not obtained. Do not hesitate to contact a qualified gun-smith or directly to www.GramsEngineering.com if assistance is needed.

As you can see, there is a difference in mag tubes, thus different kits. If the wrong kit is used, the follower may stop too high at the feed lips, or the follower will stop too low from the feed lip and fail to feed the last round. If you need help figuring out what type of tubes you have, give me a call at the number below, I will be happy to help.

Thank you very much for the reply and info.

  3. **This is for my Shadow 2 using both CZ factory mags and Mecgar mags with Henning +5 basepads. **

This may be a dumb question, but I need some clarification. The Grams spring/follower kit FKCMG-11 says it’s for the Mecgar mags, but also will work on the “gen 2” 9/40 CZ mags with the CZ emblem on them. The FKC-11 says it’s for the factory CZ 9/40 mags. I currently have the FKCMG-11 installed in both a Mecgar mag and a factory CZ mag for my Shadow 2. What is the difference in the FKC and FKCMG kit? Are they interchangeable? The FKC-11 is in stock several places and the FKCMG-11 seems to be sold out everywhere. I just received 3 of the MG version, but I need 2 more. Will the non MG version work?

Also, after installing the FKCMG-11 kit in both a Mecgar mag and a CZ mag, my slide does not lock back on either one now. Any guess as to why? This is with the Henning +5 basepad installed as well.

I finally ordered 5 of the Henning with the Grams spring/follower kit as well. I like the detent option over the pin and screw on the TTI.

I ordered these from Ben Stoeger as they showed in stock, but after 3 days of waiting, they emailed to inform me they were sold out. Also the grams springs/followers I ordered were also not in stock either. I canceled my entire order.

How did you take apart the captured stock guide rod and install the 15lb spring?

I assumed they were all the same, but mine has a screw head on one end. I just held the rod with a pair of vice grips and unscrewed it. Slid the spring off and put the new one on. Then screwed the head back into the guide rod.

  6. I appreciate all the replies to this. Ill go ahead and order a new DPP unless I find a used one for sale in the next 24hrs. But a used may just be someone else's broken one as well. I hate not being able to shoot. The last two days ive been just carrying around the frame of my S2 indexing on targets and transitions and mag changes. Don't have a slide on it, but I can still grip it and point and slam a mag in it.

I suspect your best bet is to buy another DPP.   Sometimes good deals pop up here.  I have two, between the both, they have been back to Leupold 4 times, including one I just shipped yesterday.  That one crapped out on me this sat halfway through a Brandon Wright class !!!  Not happy.

All returns were for the same thing, the center contact being shifted.  This contact is held down with only a piece of cellophane tape.  Pretty cheezy.

It seems like there has to be a way to use some type of contact cement to encase that bottom contact in so that it can’t break lose. I have some ideas, but of course it would void my warranty if I did it.

  8. I ordered a new Delta Point Pro last month. Had it on the gun less than 2 weeks. Had less than 250 rounds on it. Go to my first match and get half way thru the first stage and it dies. In summary, the bottom battery contact broke loose and moved causing the failure. I sent it off to repair last week. I get an email last night saying it will be 18 days to repair and the shipping time.....so I’m guessing overall about a month. I can’t afford to lose a months worth of shooting/practice time. This is something I’m planning to peruse and put a lot of time and effort into. A month of down time is huge when I normally shoot everyday. So....my question is do I buy another DPP or try a different option? The Holosun 507C seems to be very popular and a new mounting plate will only cost me $38 from CZ Custom. A Trijicon is not an option. The window is too small. I can currently get a new 507C for $229 or a new DPP for $320. Any other ideas, suggestions, advice?

I wore Salomon's Speedcross 4's for the first 18 months of shooting USPSA, I bought the wide version about 4 months after buying my first pair. The main issue I ran into with the Salomon's was that the Toe box was too small for my feet and would scrunch up my toes (even with the wide version). When I was initially shopping for Salomon's I made it a point to try and find them locally and try them on, I had to go up 1 whole size because of them not being wide feet friendly. 5 months ago I made the switch to Boombah's Hellcat trail runner's, the tread pattern is very similar to Salomon's but they are wider in the toe box. They are 100x more comfortable and they are 1/2 the cost (Amazon) of Salomon's. This will be the only shoe I wear for shooting unless I find something with better comfort, performance, and looks.

I didn't even consider Inov8's because they are ugliest shoe I've ever seen, right behind Chuck Taylor's. Yes I'm that shallow lol.

I wanted to give the Boombas a try, but most of the reviews I read said they were extremely stiff and uncomfortable for all day wear. I have Salomons now and they aren’t the most comfortable either. I really wish Lowa made a lighter weight trail shoe. Something similar to the Zephyr, but in a lower top. I’d buy a lifetime supply of them....but based on the wear of my Zephyrs, I’d only have to buy 4-5 pair and I’d be set for life.

Of course, on my primary gun I got tired of reapplying it so I just had a friend do a silicon carbide / epoxy grip job.

After doing my P10F in silicon carbide, I will do every gun I compete with from now on. If I could do it on my Shadow 2 and be 100% sure it wouldn't increase the weight over 45oz, Id have it on there no question.

  11. Ive seen a few on this forum and another dedicated CZ forum for sale in the $600-$650 range. Looks like everyone who has posted here is all in the same ballpark on price. It would be nice to have two cut slides for CO so when the dot stops working, and it will, you just go to your bag and pull out the extra slide with the dot already mounted and put it on and keep shooting the match.

  12. I think people are talking about two different screws here. Some of us are referring to the Torx head screw that holds the mag release tab on. This is the one I had hell with. I think others are referring to the flat head screw on the opposite side of  of the mag release tab.

  13. There is a post on this somewhere, but you can simply grind off the bevel on the end of the guide rod and run it uncaptured. You can also try clipping a coil or two off his factory spring and see if there is any improvement.

On a side note, I have 1000+ rounds thru my P10F OR and I’ve shot everything from hot 115’s to very weak 147’s, both new and remans and I’ve had zero malfunctions or failures of any kind. Also, you can try having him keep his slide locked back for a week or so while it sits in the safe or case.

  14. I just watched 5 of the Seeklander vidoes.....very helpful. He mentions the opposing forces grip with each hand. If you are doing the 60/40 or 70/30 method with pressure and also apply the opposing forces (he called it twisting jar lids), it seems as if you are going to get uneven pressure on one side vs the other. Thus causing you to pull shots to one side or the other.

Oh. Gotcha. I read it wrong. Yea. Put a good flat head on it like posted earlier and crank it. My S2 had a thread lock on it.

RE: the mag release tab screw

They must have used a lot of thread locker on mine. Even with the correct bit, I still stripped the screw head out before the screw was removed. Luckliy, it was out just enough that I could get ahold of it with a pair of small vice grips. It was a tough bitch literally till the very last thread when it finally came out. It was either some badass thread locker or it was cross threaded by who ever initially built the gun. I’ll try to locate a new screw somewhere.

I’m using a 15lb recoil spring from Cajun gunworks and I believe that a 13lb is going to be the best spring wait for a 132pf loaf that I have. Do you guys think a Glock13lb spring will work?

I ordered the 15lb and the 18lb spring. I noticed that with the 15lb, which I currently have in it, I’m starting to occasionally get hit in the face with a piece of brass. No other issues besides that. I had about ~1000 rounds thru the gun before the spring change and never once any brass in my face.

Fake Salomon’s on EBay. You’ll get your money worth of you just use them for matches.

I bought some of the fake SpeedCross shoes a while back. They were extremely uncomfortable. I never even wore them out of the house they sucked so bad. Nothing like the real ones.

  18. It seems like you are pretty set on getting a heavier steel gun for this venture, but I would take a look at the P-10F optics ready model. I have both, the P10 F OR and a Shadow 2 that im currently having the slide cut for a dot and weight reduction. I’m going to give the Shadow 2 a try since that’s what everyone seems to think is the best, but I shoot better and I’m much faster with my P10F and it doesn’t lack in accuracy. Also, the Shadow 2 has just about everything done to it trigger wise that CZC offers. It’s very nice, but..... I just thought I would throw this out there to you. The P setup would be much cheaper on you.
