If I had two guns at a match that satisfied the one division I was shooting and one had a competitive advantage over the other, I would be using it as primary and the other as back up. So hopefully rule 5.1.7.2 won't be a difficult call to make if it ever occurs. I see what you mean about a guy wanting to switch to a more favorable gun for a particular stage type. Never seen that happen though in my few years experience.

By the rules the score stands, but it really is wrong.
No, by the rules it is unsportsmanlike conduct and the friend who stood in front of the no-shoot is subject to DQ.

I am planning on switching to the .40 for reasons 1, 2, and 3 in the poll.

I only get to shoot one club match with a classifier each month. I may shoot an indoor practice match once a month as well. I miss shooting weekly back in Florida. Now with a new baby, I'm lucky the wife lets me go on a monthly basis.

When I found USPSA all I had was a Glock 19. 6 months later I bought a Beretta 92G Elite II. It has trigger work by Tom Novak and a Dawson fiber optic front sight.
Now I'm determined to switch to a .40 so I can shoot production, limited and L10. I'm almost dead set on the Glock 35, but I'd prefer the G22 if I could legally use an extended mag release. One major setback is the fact that Glock does not have an ambi or reversible mag release. It is for this reason that I am starting to think about another Beretta. I want a G model with extended mag release, beveled magazine well, and dovetailed front sight. Given the issues with breaking stainless extractors, I'm leaning toward the G-SD. Ugh, that means I need a new holster too. Darn it.
Sometimes I shoot my HK P7 M13 just for fun. At least it started out as "just for fun" then I look at my classifier scores and my highest is with my P7.

Extended on Glock?
in USPSA/IPSC Rules
Posted
Thanks Nik,
Now please tell me why. I've asked Amidon twice (once for me, and once because I was arguing about it with someone) and I first got an "illegal" and then I got a "legal". Which is it?
Appendix D4, IPSC Production Div:
19. Original parts and components offered by the OFM as standard equipment, or as an option, for a specific model handgun on the IPSC approved handgun list, subject to:
19.1 Mods to the parts prohibited
19.2 Base plates that add capacity are prohibited
19.3 Front sights may be trimmed/sight black applied.
US Appendix D9, USPSA Prod Div:
21.5 External modifications other than sights not allowed.
The US Appendix does not include the OFM parts clause and Amidon said they specifically left it out of the US rules.
I want it to be true. That way I could also use Beretta Elite II magazine pads (do not add capacity) on a Beretta of another flavor. I'd like to add the extended mag/slide release to a G22. Please tell me why it's legal and where I can go to see the final official word.
thank you
