i have difficulty tightening the die ring with the allen screw. Seems i cant get it tight enough and when i try to remove the die, it loosens
do yo loosen the die ring a bit and then tighten it and if you do, how do you re adjust the die to the same depth?

i cant seem to tighten the allen screws tight enough, my friend told me to loose it a quarter turn or so and then tighten the allen screws. But then the die will not be at the correct height....Please suggest ways to address this problem
thank you

after you inspect the cases you desire to handload, what are the next steps. If the brass has been once fired and is dirty, do you need to tumble it before you decap and resize or should you lube it, decap and resize and then tumble and clean the primer pocket and inside of the case. Do you resize and decap first and then tumble or vice versa

there is a learning curve for this craft, i have been doing this for a few months and i make new mistakes quite regularly
but never doubled charged. The guy next to me at the Scottsdale gun club did with a 45 and i think he lost his eye
reloading is like flying, it is unforgiving to small mistakes, but the big ones are really big
i appreciate all the replies, This forum is really helpful. Thanks to everyone who is helping me

i must be using the wrong die?
i do reload 30/30 and i guess i put it in the 9mm die set of dies
since i am very new to this, i dd not realize that the wrong shell plate would make it stick in the die
i will check and see where the correct shell plate is and put it on

it says number 2 on it if i remember correctly
i am not in the reloading room

when a case get stuck in the die,i can use a punch to get the brass out. I have to unscrew the decapping pin and i was wondering how to put it back and get the 3/16 inch pin length adjusted properly. Is there an organized way to go about this?
-
my reply was ruined by the voice recognition in my phone
it should have said i unscrewed the decap pin from the die and used a punch to remove the brass
i am using a rock chucker press, not a dillon
but thanks for the dillon tip, i have rl550 too

thanks for your help I'm sure that's when I clean the brass I won't have the problem absolute rookie mistake

I am new to this and I forgot to tumnle the brass before went itnt the die. it could take the primers out without a problem I understand top of the Jedi and used to punch to take the brass out

i shot my 9mm handloads , picked up the brass and came home to reload. I have a Lee and Hornady die set for 9mm
when the first brass got stuck i figured i didnt lube it enough, I sprayed two others and they both got stock in the lee. I switched to Hornady dies and the same thing happened
the brass is lapua and aguilla
this did not happen in the dies with unshot brass
i have no clue what i did wrong or how to fix it
HELP PLEASE
