Toothandnail, I actually got into 3gun by shooting at a LEO match hosted by the Texas Narcotics Officers Association. It was a blast, and the stages were developed so that guys could come out with standard police equipment and compete. I showed up with a 18" pump shotgun and was not at a great disadvantage to those shooting a semi-auto. As a matter of fact the match was done with birdshot so most the semi-autos were having a hard time cycling since they typically shoot buck, everyone on my squad finished the match with my 870. After shooting my first regular 3gun match I went out and bought a Versa-max tactical and learned the load 2 method which made me a lot more competitive in the sport.
If you want to host a match like this I think you could get a very good showing if you market it to the right people. If you can get a department to back it or maybe an officer's association to host you could get a good showing.

Thanks guys. Ill be looking to go out and shoot at a West Houston Gun Club 3 gun match soon. If I cant make January Ill be there for the Feb match. Also signed up for the Texas Multigun Championship in April. Mpie - My gun is at Vandenberg customs here in Houston. Right now Im just getting the lifter worked on and a few things tuned up. It shoots great, loading is not so fun out of the box though.

Allow myself to introduce...myself...
Just getting into the 3 gun game. I shot one small match last year and did fairly well so now I've got the bug. I've got a Versa max thats camping out at a custom shop getting some finishing touches done to her. Im running a Danial Defense V7 and a modified Glock 17. Ive been shooting for a long time but like I said, this 3 gun game is new to me. Im open to tips, advice, anything you think will help me along. Also let me know if there is a 3 gun match near Houston that I could meet you at.

I would be interested in the 1st sun every month! Couldn't get to April's match and Im out for May too. Ill be back in June if yall keep it on the 3rd sat.
