Kswift, The fact that it has a ported barrel makes it an open gun in 3 gun so you will have to compete against fully loaded STIs. Your bringing a mustang with a hood scoop to race Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I would totally buy this if I didn't compete, but I think many here feel the same way, get a pro 5" and you can compete in production, limited, and open.

I like the mossberg jm 930, do the free mods, buy a few trick goodies and spend the rest on ammo.
-
I agree the Novak fiber is too big, I put Dawson's on my glocks and getting ready to on my pro.
-
Cjsmith, how much for your lifter? Do you have any pics of the angle change? I've sent mine yo c-rums and he does great work but would definitely be interested in a drop in part vs sending out to custom shop.
-
I think most feel the same way scrambler, many threads on improving the trigger on this forum. One word .... Apex

JonF, thanks for the review. I was debating the performance center 9 but didn't think the ported barrels were worth going to open division competing against full blown STI 2011s. That's why I went with the pro 9 5in to run production and you just confirmed my thoughts.

Interesting, I have both as well. The spx mag tube is not polished, is that the difference you mention or something else? Did both have issues before the spacer. ?
-
Any more reviews on the marine spacer, I'm big on cleaning mine the way jerry miculek recommends but I like the idea of the new spacer. Ideally I would like to see someone do the same concept just Teflon coated.

Wow boxer, that loading port looks fantastic!!! What is your technique?
-
I have two welded from c-rums and no worries of igniting the shell, best mod you can do to a 930 in my opinion this thing is the thumb trap. I have friends that don't have an issue but it only takes once to really bite you and you can't weld the lifter up fast enough.
-
Even if you have good technique, doesn't half the recoil sound better?
-
For everyone who views this thread and thinks recoil pads are because we can't handle the recoil.... Don't we all put softer recoil springs in pistols to help manage recoil for faster follow up shots? Easier shooting? Works the same with a recoil pad, faster shots, easier shooting.

Summary of what I had to do to get a 13"lop and limbsaver for my 930s
1. Disassemble stock assembly
2. Cut amount you want off stock, 1in is max. I did 1in because that's what fits me best.
3. Cut recoil rod nut in half, you will see why.
4. Cut recoil spring rod assembly, be sure to keep enough threads for nut to bite properly
5. Purchase limbsaver, model I believe shown in pic below. Keep in mind this will vary due to why much you cut stock, more you cut smaller the limbsaver.
6. Drill hold in limbsaver where rod extends out, you'll understand when you look at rod.
7. Mix jbweld and fill top and bottom of plastic stock for screws to bite. Pics below
8. Assemble stock and per drill hole for limbsaver.
9. Enjoy shorter lop and a super soft shooting 930.
Remember, go slow and don't cut too much off first. You can always cut more, you can't add... Unless you purchase spacers and then you can have an adjustable lop.
Pics coming next post.

Guns and ammo tv program had Jerry Miculek and one of the host/editors who is a grand master talking about how the reset the trigger. The host said he releases the trigger all the way until his finger is off the trigger and touches the front guard. Jerry Miculek said he doesn't release the trigger that much and kind of has a feel for how far to release. The we're using a revolver so that's a little different but still great info and repeating what most have said on this thread.
Thanks everyone

I've cut an inch off both my 930s and found a limb saver to fit, have to fill stock with a little jbweld so the screws have something to bite. Now I have 13" lop with a great soft shooting 930. Love it, I can feel the difference and I've shot both side by side one with limbsaver one without. I can shot 250 rnds and no bruise or soreness whatsoever.
-
Thanks for everyone's help.
-
Thanks Tom, I've been researching and most on this thread are recommending doing a full trigger pull. I've found numerous other threads where they preach riding the reset. I'm probably going to practice both and take a few classes locally and see where that leaves me. I'm probably going to in between.

Damn I just sent my lifter off to crums yesterday, I guess I'm a little slow.
-
Also note I've also tried the trick of using blue crystal kitty litter in a large container to see if humidity drops, no such luck. Going to get the golden rod.
-
Gator get the golden rod like flatland is using just desiccant doesn't work for me I still stay around 70% humidity.
-
Glad it worked out, you'll like the target loaded.
-
Thanks flatland, that's exactly what I need. What is your humidity percentage in your safe with the rod?
-
I have a loaded as well but the trigger is super smooth, maybe call springfield, they have great customer service?
$1k do it all shotgun?

I retract my jm930 comment if you can get a benelli M1 for 700-800 like moto says. I haven't seen a benelli that cheap in so cal but if you can find one go for it.
