I've noticed something funny since I've been reading up on this topic. Every thread seems to go like this;
What's a clean burning powder for 9mm?
xyz is clean
yeah, xyz works for me
xyz is filthy, it's one of the dirtiest powders I've tried
yeah xyz is really dirty
And I understand dirty/clean, or how well it meters, is more subjective than burn rate, but it seems like there would be some sort of consensus. But in any thread about reloading components, whatever the question, the answers are basically just whatever the poster's favorite is.

I was about to ask a similar question, but thought it would be easier to tack on to this...
I just bought my first press and ordered coated 124/125 SNS bullets, now need to order some powder. I'll be loading target/practice rounds and I'd like to stick with something that's lower recoil, but on the clean side if possible. Would any of the powders mentioned here be better for my purposes? I've read a couple of places that TG can run hot, and might not be a good choice with coated bullets. On the other hand, it seems to be the most popular powder on the forum.

AA2700X
Bullseye
Titegroup
N320
W231/HP-38 (same powder)
Red Dot
WSF is probably the slowest commonly used or 9mm minor. -
Planning to load 124gr 9mm for a CZ Shadow, and 147gr 9mm for Glock (suppressed and unsuppressed) and 45acp, target and plinking
Any specific suggestions to start out with?

Are there any DIY options for tweaking an X5 trigger?

Any suggestions for 1911 work? Stuff I'm not ready to try myself like blending a magwell, fitting a barrel, etc.
And hopefully not waiting 6 months.

I just wasn't sure if the gen3 spring is the same as the larger one of the gen4 springs. I called Lone Wolf, but they didn't know either. And I don't see anywhere to purchase gen4 specific springs. But it seems odd that LW would sell a rod that allowed you to swap springs where there are no replacement springs.
-
No, it's a dual spring guide rod...
-
I ordered a Lone Wolf ss Gen4 guide rod and 13# ISMI spring
I assume I just swap out the larger spring (it's a dual spring guide rod) and leave the smaller one in place? I'm also not sure I have the correct spring. Are there gen3 and gen4 recoil springs?

You need an aftermarket guide rod. You can use a jager gen 4 captured guide rod, or a gen 3 rod but you need a guide rod adaptor ring.
I ordered a Lone Wolf Gen4 ss rod and ISMI 13# spring last night

I take it back, I just looked at their website and they have tons of stuff in stock

I don't understand why you start selling something when you don't have enough in stock to get through the first day of orders

Is a drop-in Apex trigger pretty much the best you can do with an M&P?

Yeah, 5 more guns they'll never have in stock

Is it possible to change the recoil spring on the gen4 Glock, or is it necessary to buy an aftermarket rod?

Guys, find a Glock gunsmith... a real one, like, one with a degree in mechanical engineering who truly understands the complexity of a machine... you can't just watch a YouTube video and do what that kind of person does... take DK for example... he understands the mechanics... you can't just dremel a trigger to be that great.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI'm not suggesting that I'm going to end up with the same result as a $200 DK trigger after some springs and DIY polishing. But I'm curious what I could get done without spending $200...

Are these available in the states yet?

To get to 3#, I'm probably going to need to a lighter striker?

It is probably 23#.
It's a 28#. They also come with a titanium firing pin and extra heavy fp spring.
I really like the pistol, so I think I'll swap out the above mentioned parts.

What is weight of OEM main spring In a RO9?
I think it's a 28#

Looking for a 5" Lawman, just wondering who usually has the best prices
-
I think I might go ahead and replace the mainspring and put in a regular firing pin.
That, and just give it some time. The creep is just driving me nuts.
-
I polished up the trigger bow, sear, disconnector and hammer, but it's still gritty and about 5.5#
Not sure what to try next. Maybe change out the heavy mainspring and put in a standard firing pin?

I think if it would come with the 4 21rnd'rs at $900 range and it has a good trigger, I will be in.
Lipsey's is showing $1005 MSRP and $849 MAP

I understand that at lower pressures more powder will be left, and be dirtier. But are there powders that are cleaner at lower pressures?
Is there a clean, low-recoil target powder?
